Kyle Wright promoted to AAA Gwinnett.

According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, the Braves are promoting prospect right-hander Kyle Wright to Triple-A Gwinnett.

There was speculation about a potential trade after Wright was scratched from his start in Double-A on Monday, but he's actually getting a promotion. Wright, 22, has posted a 3.70 ERA and 105/43 K/BB ratio in 109 1/3 innings over 20 starts this season with Double-A Mississippi. He's making a steady progress just a little over one year removed from being selected No. 5 overall.

Wright hasn't lit the world on fire like I wanted to see (based on my homerism), but he is tracking fairly nicely. He should be an option sometime in 2019.

I wonder if his promotion is more proof Gohara is on his way out.

Whole season numbers aren't mind blowing, but he's been really, really good the last 3 or 4 trips out I believe.

Now we talking. I'd love to see him out of the pen, or a spot start or two down the stretch.

He doesn’t necessarily make sense in rotation so bullpen is likely.

I’m all for that though recent acquisitions may make right handed reliever less urgent. Especially if there is another high leverage move made.

Will be interesting to see how allard performs vs lefties to see if that is an option.

If it's pen, get em some relief appearances at Gwinnett

I don't object to him getting some appearances at Gwinnett in relief.

I don't think it is that big a transition though, particularly if you are starting innings off rather than coming into jams, which is what I would probably begin him with.

I'm confused what the rotation is at the moment.

Folty, Newcomb, Teheran, Sanchez .... is Fried the fifth? What's Allard doing?

according to Bowman Allard is making a spot start because they wanted a lefty to face the Marlins...weird considering the Marlins are equally bad against lefties and righties

i still think allard is possibly being traded.

The Braves haven't had a set 5 man rotation all year. They have consistently rolled out 6-7 guys to give everyone extra rest.

They are in the middle of playing 11 straight games, followed by an off day, and then a double header, then something like 19 staright games. Newk just threw 130+ pitches, and will likely get some extra rest.

The 6-7 man rotation is currently all the guys you listed.

We don’t have many days off for the rest of the season. My guess is we are going to somewhat of a six man rotation for the most part to keep guys fresh. It’s a smart move and a luxury most teams literally do not have.

So add Venters, Branch and Touki....then get Viz back. Yeah....that’s strong. If we make no others moves even.

I think AA is going after Archer, but only on his terms. I don’t think he over pays much, so I don’t see anything happening. I hope we stay away from Gray unless it’s on the cheap.

The Braves also play something like 30 games over the next 31 days.
