The deal is now being finalized and players being notified
I'm curious to see what Moose and Cabrera go for. There should be a decent market for those two.

I thought the exact same thing. I definitely wouldn’t give that up at this stage of the rebuild, but that’s not horrible at all. That is far more reasonable then the price it seemed like for a while. Geez for a minute I thought they were going to get Diaz, May, AND Lux lol
Still, this is a huge get for a woeful Orioles system.

I know Machado has 2 months on his deal but they got kinda fleeced there.
Diaz isnt bad but i would have wanted more back.
I think it's pretty clear no one was offering more than that and it's unlikely the Orioles draft someone with the comp pick that's any better than Diaz. When you consider the extra 4 players they are receiving (a couple of them legit prospects) it can't considered anything but a win for the O's, imo.
The Dodgers have the luxury of making such trades with a strong farm and a loaded core full of position players under control for several years, and one of the largest payrolls in baseball.
I'd be more interested what Philly was offering for Machado.
Medina was supposedly in the offer but idk what else.

This is actually a pretty underwhelming return. The Braves could have easily beat this package without hurting the system too much.
Given this package representa quantity over quality, I think I would have been in favor of the Braves acquiring Machado.
There's what, about 5 million left on the contract this year? Recent articles would have seemed to have indicate the Braves could have added that due to the unexpected uptick in attendance. Only issue is, who knows if that's the extent of the budget we have left. We certainly have more needs than Machado, including bench and bullpen pieces.
