Movie Thread

Wasn't particularly impressed with Rogue One. Not bad obviously, just wasn't that impressed overall. It's immensely better than any of the prequels though.

Loved Logan. That's how you make a superhero movie.

A little longish, but I enjoyed it and Mrs. 50# really enjoyed it (I have to wear a Chris Pine mask around the house now). We were in the front row at a Dolby screening and it was kind of like being on an amusement park ride. I liked the plot twist near the end, but I agree things could have been compressed a bit.

How is it compared to the last 2 DCU films in BvS and Suicide Squad? I figured this would be the best of those 3 as it didn't have to shoehorn itself into the main DCU story since it's set during WW1.

Certainly better than Suicide Squad. Probably on par with Batman, but still a good distance behind even the worst Marvel film (Thor 2?).

I really didn't like Logan that much (have at me). I thought it was ponderous and Professor X's actions were, to me, immoral when he insisted they stay with the family when he must have known in the back of his mind he was putting them in jeopardy. Kind of ruined the whole film for me. I agree with you on Guardians.

Hmm I would hope it would be better than BvS. That movie had horrible editing and an incoherent storyline at times. Not sure when I'll check WW out. Probably when it's out for download.

I think Prof X was just longing for what he once had. That and he was 90+ with some kind of dementia.

No, it's overrated due to it's comparison.

It's a mediocre film. It looks great. But the overuse of Bullet Time took me out of the action and it seemed rushed and left too many things I didn't like. Also the Born Sexy Yesterday trope seemed really ****ty. I get the not knowing how certain things work. But there's so much more she should have known.
