Lol uh no, it’s pretty obvious Murphy is just getting a lot of rest because it’s likely going to be a long season. Anyone who disagrees is just blinded by their own narrative
Come on, dude…

What is the benefit of starting Murphy 4 out of every 5 games right now? There isn’t one.
There is a benefit to resting him often though.
I simply don’t believe Snit will be allowed to split the time at catcher in the playoffs. But I can’t figure out why it matters that they’re splitting time right now.
I'm with you as long as it comes to an end in about a week or so. Murphy should be ramped up going into the playoffs but I agree that keeping him fresh is the most important thing. TDA getting extra reps in September will have little impact on the course of our regular season.
However I also can see the concern with the current trend. If you believe that TDA is becoming the number 1 catcher then obviously that's the wrong move and is an issue.
Basically as long as Murphy is playing the vast majority of the playoff games then everything is fine. If that's not the case there's a problem.
Albeit a double header today, still funny that TD is getting the early game start, his 4th start in 5 games. Knowing Snit, that sets-up Murphy for the evening game so that TD can "rest" tonight" and be ready again for tomorrow to resume his role of starting catcher.
If Murphy including tonight doesn't start the next at least 2 in a row, then honestly this is beyond getting out of hand.
It's not going to affect the season one way or the other, but it is puzzling. I wish the beat writers would ask that question, because perhaps there's something we don't know.

I believe tonight makes 5 out of the last 7 games for d'Arnaud with one of those two games off being a day/night doubleheader....
So TDA is the starting catcher.
