Music from the 70's

The best thing for me about the 70s was the dawn of Metal and Hard Rock. When psychedelic rock got mad, it was awesome.

I mean when you kick off the decade with gems like this, you know it's good.

70's Musicals can not be top from Jesus Christ Superstar, GodSpell, Hair, Annie, then all the bands like CCR, Kansas, Boston, Fleetwoood Mac, Styxx, Abba, The Bee Gees. All great music. Hard stuff I don't like, if I want a headache I would just play Megadeth, Motley Crew, Black Sabbath and the others. Marillion was a cool band, but they were a latter part of the 70's.

Oh, I liked Cliff Richard and Neil Diamond as well.

For tastiest album art, I nominate:

Can't find videos of his best stuff, but any talk of 1970's music wouldn't be complete without mentioning Todd Rundgren (great musician and father of former minor league shortstop Rex Rundgren).

These guys flew below the radar in the States, but I always loved their stuff. There used to be a great video of a live performance of this song on You Tube, but it's no longer there. Lead guitarist Wilko Johnson was--and still is--an amazing player.

How could this show be forgotten?

What a great song and great sound, in any decade, but it's still so 70's.

The first lick I ever learned on guitar came from this tune and it was the only lick I knew for years. Then I saw them up close in a small honky tonk in NC in the late 80's and was surprised to learn they played it completely different. Duh. But I got serious about playing and bought an acoustic guitar the next day, meaning I never did really learn the electric version.

You know they're rebooting it, right? Ghostbusters (which wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be but stilll...) Back to the Future, Rocky Horror Picture Show......where does it all end?

With Bill Cosby intro.
