I couldn't care less what the reasons are for. The program helps the employees, and it helps the company. That sounds like a win win to me

It helps with retention - if you're getting your degree then you're not as likely to leave while you do so. Reducing turnover helps reduce training costs for new hires and increases productivity, etc. My MBA took longer to get, of course, since they cap it at $8k a year. I let them pay for all of it so it took 4 years. Allowed me to switch fields too - was in Finance (boring to me) and switched to project management. I'm sure the company gets some sort of tax write-off for it, so it's a win-win.
 
Wal-Mart is a great company that provides decent jobs, products, and services at fair prices. The main economic engine in many small towns.

I would hate to see the South WITHOUT Wal-Mart. Jesus Christ.
