Nats @ Braves - Doubleheader 9/4. Game 2

I mean ... maybe a little better than expected, offensively. But his underlying statistics last year suggested that a performance like this was certainly quite possible—which is something at least a few of us suggested over the off-season (even before he signed with the Braves).

I mean he's having a MVP level year hitting wise. I know he had some bad luck but this is still better than most thought.

Yea, I emended my post slightly, because I don't think anyone was saying he'd be sitting at a 1.050 OPS—and moreover looking like he deserves those stats, based on his quality of contact. But I think there were many of us that thought he could be a .900 OPS player with some turnaround in luck, given his batted-ball profile.

Honestly, it's not the tape-measure shots that have me surprised; it's the .400+ OBP, despite a "mere" .314 AVG.

Love Ozuna the hitter. If we don't have a DH next year, what do you do? He is awful in the field.

I think we have a chance to keep him if Liberty let's us have any money.

I’m not sure anyone expected him to be this level of a hitter but it’s not super surprising. This has been a bit better than his incredible 2017 season, though

At the plate.

He's clearly slipped a lot in the field since then—though the metrics say he hasn't been as bad as the eye-test would lead us to believe.

All that padding and protection on Harrison's left arm, and yet Ynoa still hit 'em where they ain't.

Last thing we need is the catty Zombie Expos throwing at one of the Braves' players because of Ynoa's wildness.

Harrison needs to calm tf down. Clearly Ynoa has no idea where he's throwing it.
