NBA Thread

I'm sure Miami is the only team to double Durant this year.

I dont watch alot of the games but it seemed their gameplan was make anyone but KD beat me.

They doubled/trapped the whole game.

Again, they were WIDE OPEN 3's, you'd have a point if they were contested but they werent.

Open shots go in at a much higher percentage than contested ones. You can't give an average rate and say they were lucky. Now, if you have an open rate and they exceeded that then I will agree with you.

Those guys would be lucky to hit 9-11 from the free throw line, but hitting them from 3 is totally expected.

You guys are ridiculous. The thunder may be a better team that will be proven later on if both make the finals. But, if you can't see that hitting 16-27 from 3 isn't having a game that "the shots are falling" then you guys are pretty dumb.

OKC doesn't need to make any changes. There roster is sick and we should expect improvement from guys like Jackson/Lamb/Adams/Jones.

Also, Tibor Pleiss is possibly coming over and he has been getting solid reviews in a tough Spanish league. Plus you have guys like Roberson and next years first round pick.

I dont know if his defense is ready, would Lamb start next year?

Thats why i'd like to keep Thabo if possible to have Reggie/Lamb key the bench next year to go with Jones, and whoever else.

They might get the Dallas pick but i think they slowly fade out unfortunately.

Forgot about Pleiss.

I already said its an anamoly and probably wouldnt happen again.

Again, if they are wide open, better chance they go in. Lamb has such a quick release.

Would even out if Russ was back by then.

If Thabo wants to take less money then he can stay but he is entering his 30's so its not a bad idea to let him walk. The defense would suffer but Lamb is a legit starting 2 gauard in the league. The offense is going to be so sick if they go small with Ibaka/KD/Lamb/RJ/RW.

They might not start Lamb next year. I coudl see them doing either Perry or Andre in the starting lineup or both for that matter for defense and keep Lamb/RJ on the second team to dominate.

PJ3 is 6-11, start him at the 2?

I think if Perk is out, you gotta start Adams unless we're just going to go small-ball ad have KD at the 4.

Lamb between Russ and KD would have some crazy spacing.

If he starts.

Roberson has some moments but his shot needs a LOT of work. Insane rebounder though.

Fisher is probably gone too.

PJ would start at the three and you'd still have a tall athletic frontcourt. Then you can put Roberson at the 2 only if he improves his three ball slightly. That would be the longest athletic starting five in the league. The defense would be insane. Lebron got his points but Perry played him great tonight. Even Hubie Brown went out of his way to compliment how well Perry played on defense.

''When he's out, we have a more balanced attack,''....''We run our sets and get the best shot available. When he's not there, we don't go one-on-one as much."

Re: Harden.

The same play where Bibby is holding Bryant or a different one?

The ref "who admitted it was fixed" didn't even work the game nor did he have any knowledge it was fixed. His support for claiming it was fixed was saying the refs were company men and some fouls looks suspicious.

Why would questionable fouls that helped the Kings be called late in the game?

I feel like you have this problem where instead of seeing reality, you just make up your own story in your head and go around believing it.

I don't know the scientific name for it but don't worry, there are others out there like you and you are not alone..

Do hyou think its time to start thinking the Heat might not be as good or are they just coasting? They just don't look athletic anymore.

Of course thats what the ROckets do. It is what the Thunder would have to do if they lost Durant (with RW out). Its what the Wolves would do without Love. You act like that is earth shattering news. NBA teams feed there best players.......as they should. The Rockets aren't trading Harden.

I hate the Lakers so much, I almost cried when they blew games 6 and 7 that year. But, it wasn't the refs that screwed them out of the games, they just choked. (that team was stacked)

The Heat will be fine. They are like the Spurs and know they can coast through the regular season.

And like I said last night, what NBA team can compete when the other team takes 27 threes and hits 60% of them? That rarely, if ever happens.

Thunder made 16 threes last night. If you change it to 45% (most of them were wide open threes) then you are looking at around 11-13. Which was still not enough points to come close to winning. The Thunder blew them out and next time Brooks won't play Perkins at all and spot them a huge lead. Thunder outscored the Heat by 30 when Perk was off the floor and it was higher until the end when the teams stopped playing.

You can try to rationalize why the Thunder spanked the Heat without one of the best players in the league all you want but right now the Thunder are the best team in the league and still have massive amounts of improvement potential with all the young talent. This doesn't mean they will the title (even though I believe they will) because Miami will turn it on in the playoffs but it does say that the Thunder should be considered at worst the second favorites behind Miami.

Where are all the LOL Presti comments now? How does the Harden trade look at this point when you see Lamb do what he did on the road? I'm so glad that a player who complained about his touches after winning a NBA finals game is off this team. ENJOY HOUSTON!!!!

The threes completely change the dynamics of the game.

And no NBA team would hit 45% on wide open threes. Change Fisher and Lamb to hit 40% of there "wide open threes" (though not even close to all of them were open); and they hit 4.5 threes last night. Both those guys are 35% or below, I believe overall. The THunder may win it all, they have a great player in Durant. But, last night, and last night alone they made all there shots.......something they won't repeat.

Jeremy Lamb has a PER of 14.9. Adams is at 12.9. Harden is at 20.8. I think LOL, Presti is fair.

Thunder have two dominant wing players that need to be surrounded by cheap effective depth. The Thunder would be a worse team with Harden right now at max dollars.

The Thunder destroyed the Heat last night when Perk was off the floor. Whatever way you want to explain it to make yourself feel better about your whole mantra that the Thunder aren't good with RW over Harden or whatever then you do just that. The Heat are probably coasting but the threes did not change the game more than Brooks finally realizing that Perk can't play against the Heat. The Thunder would have won anyway.

Did you even watch the game? About 20-22 of those threes were WIDE open looks. Three points shooters like KD/Lamb/Fisher can absolutely hit 45% of their open threes. Have you ever watched a shootaround before a game?

Also, part of the Harden decision is about Ibaka who is PERFECT for this team. I wouldn't trade Ibaka for Harden right now if money were no object.

3 point shooters like Fisher and Lamb?

Both are 79th in the NBA is 3pt fg% at 36%. (today after they combine for 90% last night)
