We'll see what you get out of JR now that he got his money. Guy has top 30 talent but a .10 cent head. I agree that he has the ability to play defense (as does Melo but thats an entirely different discussion) but will he? Are you able to 100% definitively say right now that you KNOW what you are going to get out of JR? Is it possible that he returned to NY because there weren't many other teams dying to throw him more money?

Prig was good last year and was fiesty at the end of the year when Kidd went down but are you really going to rely on a 36 year old that much for your defensive game?

JR had a net PER of +3.9, so good try. He also held the people he was guarding to a lower PER than your boy Russ.
 
I disagree honestly and I watch both of them play alot. Russ everyday and Smith probably 20-30 times last year. But I know you like your basketball stats which are not really meaningful at all.

I don't use basketball stats in my arguments. I will use the opinions of others that follow the game as their livelihood (like you did with the beat reporter with Walker). But, I will not lean on indvidual stats in a highly team oriented game as the gospel and neither should you.

BTW, how is it looking that Durant is the third best defensive player int he NBA?

I guess my constant harping the last few years how he has become a better defender wasn't "crazy".
