NBA Thread

I'm reading that it was "just" a broken tibia/fibula. Not to say that isn't a very serious injury, but at least there were no ligaments torn. I'm not a doctor, but I'd think that a bone injury, gruesome as it looked, would be a more reliable healer than say a torn ACL. It'll be a long road back, but I wouldn't be surprised if PG picks up where he left off.

Windhorst says the Cavs/Wolves have a handshake agreement on a Love deal.

Love to Cle.
Wiggins, Thad Young, picks to Minny.
Bennett to Philly.

Awful trade for Cleveland IMO. Its clear Lebron went to Cleveland to sign up with another "Big 3" as much as he did to go back home.

I love the trade for Philly. I know its just summer league but Bennet was very impressive. Athletic stretch 4 who has excellent strength. A real coup by them if you ask me. Thad Young was not part of their future. Whta a big man rotation Phily could have in two years. WOW!

Love is a better fit for Lebron and Irving that Wiggins. And all they lose is Bennet, Wiggins, and picks? For a top, top player in the NBA? No brainer.

In what world is that an awful trade?

Wiggins will never be as good as Love is now, sure Wiggins is in a different world on D but do you really see Wiggins ever being Love on O? That's just silly

How's that an awful trade?

They trade a couple late-1's, and essentially Wiggins.

Bennett/Love are a swap really, and they get to keep TT/Waiters.

Thats a great trade if thats all they have to trade for Love.

It's a good deal for Cleveland for the simple fact that it makes them, instantly, a huge favorite in the East.

And what happens when Love gets hurt AGAIN. And Irving gets hurt AGAIN.

Lebron needs help on the defensive end more than he needs help on the offensive end. He will now be relied on to defend the opposing teams best player again.

Marion?

Cleveland was probably the favorite even with their current roster.

I'm telling you...I LOVE this deal for Philly. Bennett looked great in Summer League and I really think he has a chance to be an impact player. All you guys are potentially giving up is a piece that won't be on your team in two years. Philly is reminding me of OKC many years ago. Always thinking long term but taking advantage of their position to continually build assets. Shame for you guys though that you don't have KD/RW.

Marion is a really good player but his effectiveness is not what it once was. He cannot be relied upon to be the rock that locks down the opposing teams best player. Wiggins is going to be a top 5 defensive player.

What is westbrook gets hurt again? What i Wiggins gets hurt?

Finding a vet defensive wing player is not hard; guys will be lining up to play for Cle.

Deal makes sense for Cle but they are still a long ways away and still dont have any elite players tho i think Embid has the potential to be. They still have to male moves, they have no shot at a cohesive unit with the guys in place.

Love/Kyrie are injurred every year. RW got hurt one year and was a monster at big minutes in the postseason. Its not even close to the same thing.

Lebron could be looking at another all him team if one of those two players who have LONG injury histories gets hurt.

Lebron has proven he can win the East by himself. I juroes arent predictable.

What if Durant gets hurt?

Has Durant ever been hurt?

Love/Kyrie all have long injury histories. I know you understand that but you are just trying to be difficult.

Injuries arent predictable. Has Geprge ever been hurt? Hows thay working out for him?

Nothing in life is predictable. We make reasonable judgements based on many known factors.

Do you think the likelihood of Durant getting injured next year is the same as either Love or Kyrie?

Yes. They hae just a chance to get injured as anyone. Unless Durant has super dynamic ligaments.
