Yup, because 1 year means everything! Melo even said he knew they weren't winning this year and it's about the next 3-4 years. They have their own pick and 40+ mil in cap space....they will be fine. Also, Melo in CHI means no Gasol....and I don't think Melo/Rose/Noah is enough to win a ring, especially this Rose.
 
I think Melo was the perfect fit in Chicago. He wouldn't have to worry about defense at all and just focus on what he does best. I belivee NY will be good in a couple of years but Melo's best chance to win was in CHI.
 
Carmelo is the prototypical "me" guy. He got paid and that is all he cares about. No team he is on will ever win anything at this level. He is a greedy player who only wants dollar signs. That's his prerogative though.
 
Westbrook is back for tonights game. Finally, we are going to see a healthy Thunder team soon.

Also to note, Grant Jerret is ready to play as well. Thunder really like his potential as a stretch 4. I'm looking forward to seeing him play.

Melo/Rose/Noah/Gibson/Butler wins a ring this year, easily.

Defense, scoring, everything.

Yes he would of had to take less but would have been worth it.

Cap space is exactly that, not a whole lot in FA this year.

Marc Gasol i guess but thats not a game-changing/altering move.

They'll have a nice pick though in what looks like a pretty good draft class.

They're gonna need a 15-20 game win streak.

West is alot tougher with teams like Phx, Pelicans, Kings all in the mix.

I agree its their best team since the Finals team but little margin for error.

The Det/Brooklyn/Mem games are gonna loom if they miss.

Taking a little less to play for a title contender made too much sense but nope..
 
In this era of statistical importance, Westbrook is a player that is greater than even his big time stats.
