NBA Thread

Jesus christ, this is a perfect example of why ESPN is a joke. Every show is starting off by talking about a freakin' headline calling KD unreliable. WHO CARES. Why is this a story? Why is this being blown up? Why do I need Stephen A Smith's opinion on this complete non-story? This is the ESPN hype machine at work, riling people up over absolutely nothing.

LOL you're such a joke sometimes, dude. It's not about caring about KD. It's about creating a story out of nothing, which they do frequently. They tell people what they should care about and think. Again, ESPN compares to shock jocks and Honey Boo Boo. They create crap that will get people watching, not necessarily the most note worthy things. This "headline" story is absolutely nothing. Now, to ESPN, it's "DID KD **** BECAUSE OF THE HEADLINE???? THE HEADLINE!!!!" It's a joke. Same way they made Jaws saying Kaep was on his way to being a GOAT a huge story when it was just that idiot's statement. They create hype machines and people who don't know anything watch and take ESPN as gospel and adopt their ideas. They are a terrible network.
 
The same idea goes for ESPN that goes for Boo Boo, Duck Dynasty, **** like Amish Mafia...they spew BS and it's inherently BS, but people watch because of how absurd it is, while getting dumber in the process.

I don't ever watch ESPN aside from actual sporting events but ESPN became a multi billion dollar network for a reason. They know what they are doing.

You think what O'Reilly says is dumb because you don't agree with it. Just like you don't agree that this newspaper issue is a big deal.

Your perception of the world is not hte same as others.

The KD newspaper article was trending all over the internet yesterday. That is why ESPN ran with the story. With the advent of Twitter all sports outlets are slow to the story. They are reacting to what pepole are talking about.

ESPN has to cover something with the NBA. (They have the rights to it) So their coverage is MLB and NBA. Having to fill all the air times means they are going to waste time on stupid stuff like that.

Well, it was. People on twitter were going crazy over it well before ESPN picked up the story. ESPN is reporting on it because PEOPLE CARED ABOUT IT. Not the other way around.

The Kaep thing was completely different. That was clearly a created story with its genesis being someone inside of ESPN.

People didn't and don't care about it....it was trending because it was a moronic headline and everyone got on the LULZ train.

It's the internet......it's twitter.......people troll and comment on everything, it doesn't mean they care. It was pretty much all just "LOLs" "Bye KD" and other stupid ****. No one took it seriously

People do not comment on anything. People comment on what interests them. Thats the definition of caring. It wasn't just a couple of people either in OKC. It was all over the world and it was millions of people. That is why ESPN picked it up.
 
If you leave a comment on something you care enough to do so. That is a fact. If the story does nothing for you you would not comment on it.

ESPN definitely got a lot more people "interested" than were "interested" previously.
People talk about things ESPN pumps up. This headline is a non-story, it was JUST a headline that pretty much no one agreed with. The newspaper guy did his job I guess, he got people to go bananas over nothing and got ESPN to run with something like they always find ways to do. Doesn't make it even moderately important.
