Yeah, I don't get the cop-out of "oh but his teams stink." He's a tough player to play with.
Using playoff appearances in the NBA to state how good a player has been is laughable. He is notorious for not going deep in the playoffs. At this point, he never will.
What's he done the last two years with the Knicks?
He's good, talented, but selfish, and hard to play with.

Just going to ignore the win total spikes? That's cool....it's what I expected.

Making the playoffs is sooooooooooooo easy but Kevin Love has never made it and he's a "superstar"

The win total spike in Denver had as much to do with other moves and players returning from injury as Melo did. Come on now.

Win totals spike..like the last two years...Melo can't even make the playoffs in the East right now. Averaging 42 wins in the East, basically .500, is far from impressive.

Melo is a good player but the people that make him out to be a superstar are crazy. Guy is good but not even top 20 when you consider the whole package.

The only player they added that was any good was Andre Miller, unless you're counting Michael Doleac and Jon Barry as key players?

Wanna try this again?

Guys I take over Melo:

KD
RW
Ibaka
Duncan
Parker
Ginobli
Leonard
Curry
Thompson
Green
Marc Gasol
Conly
Harden
Lillard
LMA
Paul
Griffin
Dirk
Davis
Cousins
Lowry
Teague
Wall
Beal
Noah
Butler
Lebron
Kyrie
Love
George

I can see an argument for a few of these guys but when you look at the total package I think all these players are better than Melo.

Andre Miller by the way is a really good player. Plus they got Camby back from injury that year.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Let's just assume all those players ARE better......every single player you named is on a TEAM that has way more talent on it than the Knicks. Thanks for proving my point

Knicks had one of the top 5 centers in the league last year on their team and didn't make the playoffs IN THE EAST! Melo has as much to do with the state of his team than anything. People are running to play with the great Carmelo.

Tyson Chandler was hurt all year and his numbers and D were trash. Also, LOL at him being a top 5 center.

His contribution to the team last year was not great because the team is a bunch of losers. Like Phil said, the team has a losers mentality.

Same team as the year before....keep reaching

Top 5 center LOL.....Him and Steven Adams CORNERSTONES!!!!!!!!

hahahahahahaha

Shockingly, Chandler has returned to being a force this year now that he's playing on a team with a team mentality, and not the New York 'Melos.

Knicks barely have a better record than the tanking Sixers, but.

Melo, Phil, cap space, getting rid of Tyson since he sucks is good, among other things- BRULE

To be fair, Love played in the West where sometimes 50 wins doesnt make the playoffs.

And who was his 2nd best player, Pek?
