NBA Thread

If missing Westbrook when they had HCA, and Ibaka playing on one leg, losing to the NBA champs is under-achieving.

If winning a title is success, not many teams succeed.

It's funny how upset that team is at the media considering OKC has a notoriously homer media that pumps out puff piece after puff piece.

Please, they arent any different than any other team.

All teams media are homers mostly.

How would a team in NY, LA, DC or any major market be covered if they have 0 rings with KD - RW - Harden - Ibaka?

Are they supposed to beat battle-tested teams without much playoff experience under 21-22 years old?

How is losing to LeBron, Bosh, and Wade with other battle-tested vets under-achieving.

You have to take your blows to win a title.

This is a weak troll attempt, i've seen better from you.

Well, they would have been one of the youngest teams of all time to win a title, and really the youngest core of all time so I'm not sure how thats under acheiving considering they lose to a team with James/Wade/Bosh in their primes.

2 years ago they had one of the highest SRS of all time but lost Westbrook in the playoffs. Last year Ibaka goes down and after the Thunder owned the Spurs in the previous 12 games they look lost. These are the types of things that probably piss off the Thunder and fans alike. Yes, they haven't won but the narrative for some strange reason is either (1) they've lost because of the harden trade, and (2) they have underacheived.

The media conveniently leaves out hte fact that injuries have played the biggest part in the fact the Thunder haven't won a title. To just ignore that fact is just not being fair at all. Not like I expect everyone to be fair but thats the truth.

This is perfectly summarised by Royce Young:

I think a lot of KD's frustration is related to the media's spotlight on the Thunder's failures, conveniently ignoring things that happened

There's this constant search to diagnose the Thunder's problems, but their last two seasons were derailed by untimely playoff injuries.

Even now it's about what's so wrong with them. What's wrong? KD and Westbrook were hurt. KD's played half the season. That's what's wrong.

So from his perspective, wouldn't you get sick of that narrative?

You're missing the point...all media does that, 100 times worse in NY and LA compared to the soft ball crap KD and RW deal with in OKC. Seriously, imagine this team being covered by the NY media....if KD thinks this is bad he should talk to Melo or Kobe.

Imagine the questions RW would get 50 times a game with the way he plays PG but he thinks OKC is bad? LOL

Just to be clear here, I think KD is out of line. I don't think any athlete should act like this with the media.

The Westbrook thing is interesting. Guy is putting together a hell of a season and I think a big thing that goes against him is that he plays on a team with an all time player. I have been extremely frustrated with RW all year but when you take a look at his total impact it certainly doesn't coincide with the narrative on him.

Zero rings with KD - RW - Harden - Ibaka and they aren't getting one this year, so yes, they've obviously underachieved.

You know thats an oversimplification of what actually has happened but you will never admit it.

Please answer these questions:

1. Should they have beaten a team led by James/Wade/Bosh in their prime with a core of 22/21 year olds?
2. Should they have won a title after RW went down?
3. Should they have won when Ibaka went down and beat a team that decimated the two time defending champs?

3 conference finals, 1 finals and 0 rings....got to get one. The Spurs series was 2-2 with Ibaka playing, give it up. If LD and RW are as good as you say they then you have to get a ring.

They're great, but you still need your role players to step up.

Why didnt Miami beat SA last year if LeBron is the best ever?

They had Harden when he was 19, 20, and 21.

Ibaka is more of a 3rd/4th scoring option.

They've had bad injury luck, can you even agree with that?
