NBA Thread

Noel would get a haul; probably slightly ahead of where they drafted him. They have had the opportunity to pick 6 and 11 in 2013 and 3 and 10 in 2014. From that they've gotten:

A top-3 protected Lakers pick in 16 or 17. (maybe a borderline lottery pick, but Lakers should be much better next year)
Noel
Dario Saric, who will be overseas at least another year and is a huge question mark
Orlando 2017 first round pick (WHo knows)
Joel Embid

Well if Embiid doesn't play then it sucks. It was all centered around Embiid. Sucks for them if the rumors are true.

I don't think I can say Lebron is better than MJ, but he sure is making a case for it. He's taken just pathetic teams to the finals; won a couple finals; and is competing with one of the best teams in NBA history (in terms of what they accomplished in the regular season). I think 25 wins might be right for this roster without Lebron. Either way, I'm not sure anyone could argue that Lebron is outside of the top 2 players in NBA history.
I don't think his court awareness or his basketball skills are in the top 10 in basketball history. He's 6'8" with guard skills and he's very aggressive when he tries. He also spends most of the time standing around at the top of the key waiting for the ball like a point guard. And he gives up easily. I don't care what his stats were, his effort was about 70% in Game 6. They could've won that game with a better first half effort.

And btw, I hope Blatt said something more significant than that crap we heard from his mic. Allowing yourself to be miked is a really dumb thing to do in such a big game. It was just one cliche after another. He came across as the biggest idiot on the court.

He has to play pretty much every minute, and do everything.

Personally i think he was trying to save energy for the 4th if it was close.

Im not gonna get on him for that, the numbers when he'd on the floor/off the floor this series was crazy. The fact they won 2 games with a team this limited on offense was remarkable.

What a crock. If Lebron plays like 1 more season he becomes one of the 10 best players in NBA/ABA history. Basketball skills or not. Guys does it all. Has the vision to pass, can shoot, is a physical monster. What you described "6'8 with Guard Skills" doesn't happen. It's why he's so damned special .

You don't watch basketball at all. How would you even know any of this?

Based on scoring stats? That's a good way to measure a player's worth. I think Lebron's a great player but he needs a really good guard to keep him in position. Watching him play guard is ugly.

He played like a monster yesterday, lowering his shoulder and plowing to the basket like he was going for a 1st down. Zero court awareness on almost every one of those drives. Did he forget how to pull up and drain a jumper?

Magic had that and was better in his day, imo. But he wasn't so strong and muscular.

Magic Johnson is probably the best comparable to Lebron. Speaking of shooting, Lebron is a far better shooter than Magic was. Both are fairly similar in passing/rebounding, but Lebron turns the ball over far less than Magic did. Magic also was fortunate to play with far great talent.

LOL Zito, Lebron is clearly one of the top 10 players of all time. He's easily top 5.

Zito tries to chime into basketball discussing for some reason. The only question with Lebron at this point is if he is better than MJ.

Sadly this Finals loss will only put more doubt into it but if he ran off 3 of the next 5 titles, then he'd have a hell of an argument.
