NBA Thread

Yeah, of course LAC and SA are so great and Houston and Memphis are crap. Makes a **** ton of sense if you are dense.

Never said that, but they did have a very favorable road this year, no two ways around it.

Hey so how about that Cuz trade to the Lakers? The one that someone thought was a sure thing 12 hours ago. lol what a rube.

Do you think its fair to evaluate what the "designed" team would look like at this point?

You are absolutely correct that if everyone stayed healthy that the Thunder should have won a title.

But if Presti offered 4 million more then you would have had your insurance policy for injury and had three of the top 10 players in the league. It was terrible trade then and even more so now based off the players they acquired for him.

Clean up on aisle 12, Sam Walton.

That's so funny. But continue to poke fun at my current job. The job market is so awesome especially for a three time veteran like myself. But hey keep on at it, boy.

And back to the NBA..how did that trade workout?

I would never poke fun at you if you didn't consistently belittle everyone that you came in contact with on this board. I'll leave your personal life alone, but keep that in mind the next time you call us all losers.

Let me know when the trade deadline pasts.

And what if Harden would have made it difficult because he wasn't the "man"? He made it clear that was a big reason why he was happy to be traded.

That's fair, but you still have to get a better trade package than the one acquired. Even you have to admit that you are somewhat disappointed with the return.

But they did try reportedly from multiple teams. The Wiz turned down Beal and Warriors turned down Klay.

Harden was not as valued around the league as what he should have been. Morey saw how good he was and traded a bunch of assets.

In hindsight, the results of the trade are underwhelming and even moreso now with Kanter on board limiting what Adams is goingto be able to do.

I loved what I saw out of McGary though. He is a very promising player.

The book is not closed on this trade just the players that changed teams.

Also, I still FIRMLY believe that Lamb will be a starting player in this league. Brooks was a stubborn coach and made examples out of everyone not named KD/RW.

Lamb has skills and I really can't wait to see how much of a chance he gets.

I'll admit at the time I was begging for the Jazz to get involved. We had the pieces to get the trade done. I think we could have trapped here in Utah by matching any RFA contract.

In some ways I find that just as egregious as the Thunder trading him.

RW/Love are real close so I don't suppose there would be a problem.

RW is a great distributor and Cousins would love playing for a PG tha made the game easier for him.

Then why couldn't Harden/RW/Durant work together?

How much of that is ownership orderring the trade we will never know. Presti may have had to make the best of a bad situation. They clearly believed in him by drafting him in the first place.

The idea was sound...You have a great core of KD/RW/Ibaka and you surround it with depth. They have accumulated a crazy amount of depth but have been snakebitten (any objective person would agree). We really can't say whether or not the plan succeeded or failed as of yet and we also don't know how hte team would look if Harden stayed.
