You clearly said they would have a good defense. I wouldn't have argued if you just argued length.

I vehemently disagree that the Thinder can go small and still have a good defensive lineup.

If KD is playing defense like he played prior to getting hurt then I think it can be at the worst an average lineup. They can switch every single PnR and still have an elite rim protector.

Knicks all of a sudden have some talent; bet they add Monroe as well

Grant, Melo, Grant, Monroe, Euro

You can't switch Russ onto the bigger wings (and God no not onto a big). And if he's guarding the 2 he's going to be off the ball a lot and he's proven the last couple years that he's awful at that.

And Payne isn't long enough to switch onto anyone. You realize the guards we talk about being able to switch are 6'6"? Payne can guard the point and that's probably it.

Galloway was pretty good last year as well.

They will buy a second round pick in a deep draft and could find a player.

Good job by Phil so far.

If the team wants to go big then the Thunder will ABUSE that team offensively. But, when they go small Russ can body up a bigger wing. Russel is as strong of a guard as there is in the league.

Its not perfect but the differential between offensive efficiency and defensive efficiency is goingto be huge.

Outbre had a defensive rating of 92 last year despite the team being poor defensively without him on the court. That sounds good to me

Russ can guard 2's and some 3's, he's built like a tank.

Obviously Payne cant.

Is Payne a good shooter? I don't know what advantage he gives you if you decide to go small. Isn't his best trait is that he's good at running an offense?

Payne allows you to rest Russ and run the offense through Durant when he's on the floor and Russ is gone. I'm sure he will play with Durant and Russ, but I don't think that will be one of your better lineups which is my entire point from the beginning.

I like Portis a lot, didn't think he would drop tothe Wiz. Odd fit with Bulls loaded at the position.

Russ would get murdered by a 3. He's not long enough for that. Durant and Roberson would do well doing that.

Russ isn't considered that good of a defender. He's not disciplined enough and putting him off ball would mean he's going to try to cheat and steal every pass.

He's an ok shooter. Pretty streaky.

Agreed that Russell is not a good defender in a team scheme but thats not due to a lack of ability.
