The Clippers are reportedly lobbying DeAndre Jordan to reverse his decision to join Dallas, and stay in Los Angeles.
Jordan has only verbally committed to signing with Dallas, and while teams traditionally don't talk to free agents once they've made their decision, the Clippers are desperate to retain Jordan and will get a final meeting with him on Wednesday in Houston. Jordan is reportedly still "torn" and "unsure" despite verbally committing to Dallas, and Rivers is reportedly going to offer him that larger role in the offense that he desires, in addition to hiring a big man coach to help his development. Thursday will be the first day that free agents can officially sign their name to a contract, and it'll be very interesting to see how this one plays out. Chris Paul will fly from his vacation in the Bahamas to participate in the meeting, alongside Blake Griffin, Steve Ballmer and Rivers.
DeAndre Jordan is now reportedly "50/50" on his decision to either return to the Clippers or stick with his original decision to join the Mavericks.
The Clippers are reportedly "hopeful" that DeAndre will return, while the Mavs are "nervous" about this second meeting with the Clippers, so there's really no telling exactly how this will play out until the contract is signed. Paul Pierce was reportedly added to help the relationship between Chris Paul and Jordan, and he will participate in today's meeting, along with CP3, J.J. Redick, Steve Ballmer, and Doc Rivers.
