Bigger piece of trash the Clippers or Deandre Jordan?

Jordan because he went against his word. Clips were scumbags too.

THis is gonna have some serious ramifications on the free agency process. With how its set up, your world causes a chain reaction of other moves.

Yeah this is a very bad precedent of he did/does sign back with the Clippers. Haven't been paying attention today.

Clippers are going to be even easier to abhor than ever, after this. And, as you allude, it's even worse for the Mavericks than simply losing out on Jordan: they let Tyson Chandler walk over to Phoenix on the basis of their verbal agreement with Jordan, and Chandler was probably their best starting-center candidate outside of the douche heading back to Cliptown.

The Clips clearly, as an organization, didn't take no for an answer. There may not be any legal ramifications, but I bet they are looked down upon by other organizations.

According to Presti they are going to match the offer.

In the end its just money and not my money. Hopefully this will convince KD & RW to stay when the time comes.

Thats too much to pay Kanter IMO. Would have liked that number to come in at 12M.

I can only hope that he can become passable on defense.

I wouldn't be surprised if the moratorium period gets a long look during the next CBA negotiations.

Meanwhile, Dallas is in a bit of a pickle now. I have to think they might inquire with Chicago regarding Taj Gibson, or even Joakim Noah, since in the draft (selecting Portis) the Bulls added to what was already a front-court surplus. I'm just not sure what player(s) Dallas could offer a club in win-now mode without diminishing their own window-closing hopes to compete.

wait, what did the clips do wrong?

It's an unwritten rule in NBA circles. You don't start to poach someone away after they have a mutual agreement to sign with another team.

I realize that there aren't agreements per se during the free agency period, but it's inmoral on both ends. If Jordan turns his back on Dallas he's pretty much never going to be respected in this league again.

What are other examples of this? I don't think I've ever heard of one.

As far as I know this is unprecedented.

The nearest I can recall was Boozer's departure from Cleveland to Utah, under the previous CBA: he had a handshake with Cleveland to return on a larger UFA contract if they renounced their RFA rights to him, then he bolted for Utah instead. I don't think that would even be possible under the current CBA, just as I'm betting the moratorium is going to be shortened, eliminated, or otherwise tweaked under the next CBA.

If that's the case, why even hesitate?

Well, Klay is a good defender and covers PG's, that Curry doesnt guard.

He's on a team-friendly deal.

I'd hate to see him go but getting Klay back wouldnt be a horrible alternative.

Thats alot of money for Kanter but its either Kanter or a league-minimum scrub, so.
