So now, its great to have a big man that can score down low. You've been harping for months about how rim protection and stretching the floor was the only thing important in the NBA.
When you have Ibaka you have flexibility as to what you need out of the center position. I have been very consistent in that position. Ibaka is one of 2 or 3 NBA players that can defend the rim/paint at an elite level while being a very good three point shooter. There is basically nobody that can do this in the NBA. Anthony Davis will be doing this shortly as I expect him to start hitting threes this season.

They cant.
They dont have a MLE to offer, dont have a mini/tax payers MLE.
It's either Kanter or a vet minimum C.
They can go over the cap to keep Kanter since they own his bird rights, cant really sign much worth a damn if they let him go.
They could play Adams big minutes but who backs him up?

He's crappy defensively, he's one of the best low post scorers in the league.
Asik and Robin Lopez got 12 and 13 mil a year, and while their defense is good, it's hardly Rudy Gobert level.
Kanter wont be a reason KD may stay, having the best team possible would be one, and Kanter gives them that.

I thought that was the right pick. Like the Knicks with Porzingis you have to try to hit a homerun.
Although based on what I saw out of Aaron Gordon in summer league I think he is about to explode. Can't believ ehow much better his shot looks in year 2.

It's not close to the same situation, Emiid had a documented health concern....a big one.
That's why I was a big proponent for any team after 1 to draft him. His ceiling is ridiculously high. Knicks have had a tremendous offseason after a rough year last year.

Yes, Robin is a very good all around center. Using career stats for him is dumb, he just recently became a big minutes guy.
Go look at the nerdy stuff on Twitter, everything says OKC is better off giving Kanters minutes to Adams and Mcgary.

His career high in points is 11 PPG.
I read what twitter says about Kanter.
Adams is good, and i like McGary but hes not a stallworth on defense.
They needed him to be near SA/GS/Cle. May not regardless but it helps.
