Wizards trade for Gortat.

Suns get: Protected top-12 pick in 2014, and Okafor.

Wiz get: Kendall Marshall, Shannon Brown, and Gortat.

Unless they extend Gortat, i'm not sure of that move.

Even if they make the playoffs, next years draft is SOOOOOOOO stacked.

Good trade for both teams. The Wizards take another step towards legitimate competitiveness and provide Wall a much more competent offensive center to whom he can pass, who still rebounds at a good rate, and who's been much healthier, even if he's probably less of a skilled of a defender than Okafor. Meanwhile, the Suns (likely) receive a solid pick in a good draft and shed some salary after the season, both necessary goals since they're not playing for anything over the next season or two and Gortat's already 29.

It's good, but they are in the worst spot in the NBA.

Not good enough to tank, and not good enough for a championship.

Next years draft has a lot of good bigs that they could of picked in the 13-17 range.

They may make the playoffs, but what happens if Gortat leaves, and they just miss out on the playoffs, say 13-14 range?

Next years draft is stupid good.

Supposedly the Wizards arent keeping any of Lee, Marshall, or Brown.

I think its a fair deal. The Wiz are all in for the playoffs this year and the injury to Okefor was going to sting. The draft pick is top 12 protected so essentially the Wiz either make the playoffs or they retain the pick. Gortat should get a ton of easy baskets on this team.

This is essentially a trade of Gortat for one of:

Andrew Harrison
Mario Hezonja
Doug McDermott
James Young
Perry Ellis
Aaron Gordon
Jerami Grant
Mitch McGary

The is good, but once you get out of the lottery the draft always goes downhill fast. If they end up 13/14, thats the worse case scenario. But, this is a good team and they should easily get in the playoffs and be competitive if they get in the 5/6 spot in the East. (that is probably upper end of expectations)

Not sure about 5-6 range.

Likes of the Cavs, Pistons, Knicks should be in that mix.

But its a good move to make a run at the playoffs if they dont like who will be there when they pick.

I would of kept the pick though.

LOL, with how deep the West is, nah bro.

What? We have one of the best big men in the league in Cousins. Isaiah Thomas is going to be 6th man of the year. Vasquez is an assist machine. Thornton is as clutch as Kobe Bryant. McLemore is like a young Ray Allen, but better. We resurrected John Salmons and his elite mid range game from the dead. Travis Outlaw is the sharp shooting/defensive wizard the likes of which we have not seen since Bruce Bowen. Jason Thompson (bass mouth) who's consistent consistency is consistently constant. We have Chuck Hayes who is like trying to post up a **** house made of bricks. Jimmer Fredette is the greatest 3 point shooter the game has seen since Jason Kapono. Mbah a Moute is a prince for Christ sake. Then there's Carl Landry who the bleacher report stated has a better post up game than Kevin McHale. We are stacked!

You can't name 8 teams that are better.

If you're being serious...

In no order.

OKC, SA, Hou, LAC, Mem, GS, Den, Portland, LAL, Mavs.

No way the Lakers are making it. Have you seen their roster?

Sac is going to be better than Portland and the Mavs. 8th seed...count it.

I agree that they will be MUCH Better than the Lakers. I think the Mavs are going to be good and Portland has a lot of talent as well.

Best post ever

It's obviously a 2 team race....I lean towards the Knicks because of KG and PP being much older and obviously wearing down over the last few years. Wouldn't be shocked if either won it, I would be shocked if either won it by more than 4 games.
