NBA Thread

It's obviously a 2 team race....I lean towards the Knicks because of KG and PP being much older and obviously wearing down over the last few years. Wouldn't be shocked if either won it, I would be shocked if either won it by more than 4 games.

I guess I can see the Nets having injury issues. I don't think KG is as big of a risk as PP but they are so deep that most of their guys are only playing 20 minutes a game anyway. Its going to be interesting to see if they can gell. Its all about D-Will for them either way.

Kevin Garnet is the biggest scumbag in the NBA. I cant wait to root for his old ass to break down and fail. Least like player in the NBA.

If KG and PP are only playing 20-25 minutes a night, the Nets are in trouble.

Second units are rarely on the floor together at one time. The depth at PF is excellent for the Nets.

How does Evans and Plumlee = excellent? Evans is a GREAT rebounder but doesn't do anything else...and Plumlee is a scrub.

Blatche/Kirilenko are the backup PF's though Blatche will play a lot of center.

Evans is also a solid backup as long as he isn't relied upon to score.

They aren't....Blatche is the backup center and AK is the backup SF. Of the 2,014 minutes AK played last year (64 games) only 324 of those minutes came at PF.

I'm sure they will limit KG's minutes, even give him some games off to be fresh.

Blatche is a good backup, Evans is a good rebounder.

AK might get some time there.

Plumlee is nothing though.

And facing one of Ind/Brooklyn/Chi in the first round, oh boy....

I'm betting it's Brooklyn.

I'm predicting the top five as follows:

1/2 Chicago*

1/2 Miami*

3 Indiana

4 Brooklyn

5 New York

*The top two will really depend on (a) Wade's health, (b) Noah's health, (c) how seriously Miami takes the regular season this year. I'd place greater odds on Chicago, though, because of Thibodeau's relentlessness, the chip on Rose's shoulder as he tries to demonstrate he's returned to form (and then some), and the slight relaxation I think will have set into Miami's regular-season mindset as the look ahead to a potential three-peat.

After those five, I think there's an appreciable gulf, but I think Washington, Cleveland, and one of Milwaukee/Atlanta/Toronto/Detroit round out the eastern seeds.

I would agree with this....I think 1/2 is obviously Miami/Chicago and depending on Bron wants it bad enough or not, I can see those 2, flip-flopping. 3 through 5 is completely interchangable, IMO, between Indy-NYK-BK. All three have question marks:

Indy - I don't think they have any depth, Granger is always an injury concern and I'm not sold on George Hill being a starting PG on a championship contender.

BK - Age, lack of scoring beyond starting 5, rookie head coach

Knicks - Too many head-cases? Lack of inside scoring threat, rebounding

I think it's going to be a really fun year in both leagues, I'm personally going with a Heat/Rockets final.

Not a big fan of Houston.

Like GS, OKC, SA, and the Clippers ahead of them.

East you bet on Miami but depends on health of Wade, and how Ind/Chi/Brooklyn/Knicks, etc evolve.

Indiana is more-so built for the playoffs.

Chicago depends if they want homecourt big enough and does Miami want it or will they rest guys near the end of the year.

Still think Indiana provided health is the biggest "threat" to them.

But i do worry about George Hill as their PG though.
