NBA Thread

Jackson is not starting over Kemba, Jennings, Vasquez, Knight or Lin. You could be cheap and use the Bulls, if you want.

I never said the Thunder would suffer in the reg seasons, they aren't winning a ring though. Which is all I said.

Again, its just a difference of opinion. I have seen much more of Jackson than you and I have been almost spot on (aside from Maynor maybe) about everything I have said about the Thunder. Guy is absolutely legit and if he improves his 3 point shooting just a little bit he will be a top PG type of guy top 10-15.

You can keep thinking this team isn't winning a ring. The only team that can stop them is Miami. This is the best Thunder team yet and with Ibaka's continued development they will get a title soon enough. This team is ridiculously talented and deep and with a solid trade of Harden have extended their window of being the most talented team for another few years. If KD/RW take the lead of Lebron and take less than max then this whole talented core outsdie of the big 3 (RJ/Adams/Lamb/Perry/Roberson) can be kept together long term.

Just remember when it was laughable to think of Durant as a top 10-15 player. KD/RW have gotten so much better each year that the THunder basically have the top 2 players on the court at all times. Its just a joy to watch.

BTW, go watch Tom Haberstroh video's on ESPN lately. He thinks about as highly on Jackson as I do.

And how many rings do they have? If they don't win again this year, what's the excuse?

Oh, I fully expect them to win the title this year. If they don't its a disappointment. Lebron is still the best player in the league and that goes a long way but the Thunder have the best team in the league this year and the best part is that they are going to get better. RJ/Lamb/Adams/Roberson all get better.

Roberson is in that group now? Cool

He is just a guy that will play D at a high level and be a really good rebounder. Guy can't shoot for the life of him at this point but for another guy to come in and give 6 fouls on Lebron thats a huge thing. KD/RW/Ibaka do so much on offense now that they can survive with one no offense guy. Roberson is just another Thabo in the future. Very important guy to have on a championship club.

You aren't beating Miami or Indy, you should just accept that now so you don't cry later.

Thunder match up so well with Indiana that I'd LOVE to play them. Thunder would beat them in 5 games.

Miami is a different animal. Lebron is just so good that by himself he can make it a seven game series. I still think the Thunder would win there.

I watch almost every Thunder game and I promise you this is the best Thunder team they have ever had. This isn't a statement saying that some guys on our team are better than Harden because that isn't true. Its about the development of KD/RW/Ibaka who have gotten better each year. Have you noticed what Serge is doing this year? Those three do so much and now the Thunder have additional scoring options coming off the bench that allow KD/RW to get more of a off teh ball look and rest.

The interesting thing IMO to note moving forward for the season is the development of Adams. Guy has a really good idea of how to play defense but does taht while still fouling so he gets himself into trouble a lot. He protects the rim like an elite level defensive center but needs to learn how do so without fouling so much. If Adams develops enough this year to start him then the Thunder are going to have a 5 man unit of:

Adams
Ibaka
KD
RJ
RW

You find me a team that has a better more athletic five man unit. All five guys can defend and four of the five can score. Sure, we all know I'm a big homer but I know my basketball. The Thunder have absolutely destroyed teams this year. Look at their losses:

Minn - without RW
LAC - phantom ejection of Ibaka
GSW - last second game winner
POR - second game of a road back to back against a good team

They have yet to have a bad loss this year. So you tell me BRule...which team is actually better than the Thunder this year and why?

Plenty of teams can beat the Thunder in the playoffs.....Miami, Indy, Houston, SAS, LAC, GSW, Portland

Miami, as long as Bron is playing, is the best team in the NBA. That's not up for debate.

I would agree with your last statement. Until someone beats them int eh playoffs they deserve it.

None of those other teams will beat the Thunder and we wouldn't even be having this discussion if RW wasn't hurt last year because the Thunder would have been in their second straight finals.

I could see Houston giving them some problems because their two players are at least close to our two players but the rest of the team for the Thunder is much more talented and the Thunder can actually play Perk since he has a solid history of disrupting Dwight.

Portland is a nice story but no way would they beat OKC in a seven game series. They just aren't there yet.

LAC? The same Clipper taem that couldn't even play with Brooklyn the other night? Ok, sure thing.

I have nothing but respect for the Spurs and they are able to dismantle teams based on their execution but the Thunder have their number. They are just too athletic and skilled for them at this piont in their career.

Golden State would worry me a bit because historically the Thunder don't defend the three all that great and Curry could shoot them into a long series.

Lol at thinking what happens in the reg season matters

Everything matters. Each game is an opportunity for the team to get better. If you don't think so then fine. Regular season might not better to Miami who can sleepwalk to a 2 seed but in the West every game matters because the Thunder are basically unbeatable at home. They also have young players who are growing and improving every game. Again, you are just throwing team names out there without saying why you think they would win. Miami I'll give you because they have probably the best player of all time but the other teams don't have the continuity/talent/depths to hang with the Thunder.

Beating a team in the reg season means next to nothing, playing a team on a random Wednesday night is not the same as playing them in a 7 game series. If you think LAC can't beat OKC because they lost to the Nets, then good for you.

What have the Clippers proven at all? They are a soft soft team. I'd put them maybe 7th or 8th in the conference.

OKC
SAS
Hou
GSW
POR
DAL

Sure, they look great on the highlights for sportscenter but they just aren't a championship basketball team.

7th or 8th? HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

They've played 20 games, maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan, you're funny.

There regular season performance has nothing to do with it. Their performance in aggregate for the last three years is the main reason.
