Better win more than one, a few MVPs, all NBA D first team, finals MVPs, etc, etc, etc

Kobe's made all-NBA defense the past few years based off rep when his defense has been ass the last few years.

Kobe only won 1 MVP, and he's a top-10 player of all-time.

I could absolutely see him dominating these awards for the next 6-7 years. Will he get 5 or 6 MVPs? Probably not but he will win a few and a few rings.

That rumor has been around forever....obviously Chicago would want Melo but why would the Knicks do that?

Knicks came out today and said Melo isn't going anywhere....only place I'd trade him is to the Suns or Warriors

Warriors dont have many picks.

Suns i could actually see signing him though, they'd have the cap room along with a lot of draft picks.

Warriors don't have picks but they have a **** ton of young talent, they came out today and said everyone is avb but Bogut and Curry. I'll take a deal around Klay or Barnes right now +++

Steph/Klay or Barnes/Melo/Lee/Bogut.....that can cause some serious damage.

I still don't understand why a team who wants to win a title would want to hitch their wagon to Carmelo.

I've been very outspoken about how I think melo is overrated. However, I do believe that if the Knicks were able to put a useful player next to him aside from Amare the past three years that they might have been able to make some noise. The problem is that in the current state of the NBA nobody is likely to beat Lebron and hopefully the same will be said the next couple of years about Durant.

Melo is really talented but you have to surround him with a team that suits his abilities. He isn't Lebron/KD who will raise up everyones game.

You really don't see how adding a 28/9/3 player to a contending team would help? Weird

You can hate Melo all you want but he's been a top player the last 2 years, not the same guy he was.

He is a selfish chucker who will never win anything. He won at Syracuse, but will never win anything at this level.

From Peltons ESPN article today: (Can't wait to see how RW integrates into the team)

Great without Westbrook; better with him
Of course, Oklahoma City has managed to surge without star guard Russell Westbrook, who remains sidelined after undergoing a third surgery on his right knee in late December. The Thunder's performance as a team -- and Kevin Durant's individual hot streak -- has been so good without Westbrook that it's overshadowed how good the team was with him in the lineup. Any notion that Oklahoma City has been better without Westbrook isn't backed up by the numbers.

Remember, when Westbrook reinjured his knee on Christmas Day at Madison Square Garden, the Thunder were in the midst of a 29-point win over the New York Knicks. That brought them to 21-4 (.840) in games Westbrook played, a 69-win pace over the course of a full season. Indeed, Oklahoma City's schedule-adjusted differential surges to 10.0 points per game better than average looking solely at games with Westbrook, as compared to plus-6.1 without him (and a .714 winning percentage).

Of course they are better with him.

Anyone who says they aren't needs to get their head checked.

Russ was playing great, most notably his passing, averaging around 7-8 assists per game, ball movement was crisp, among many other things.

They have no chance to win a title without him.

As saw in the playoffs last year.

He might not win anything but he has nothing around him in NY that comes close to a championship team. LMA takes the same amount of shots as Melo this year, he's a chucker too, right?
