Brooklyn does not play an interesting style of basketball.......unless you like watching unorganized adult league YMCA basketball.

I guess you haven't watched them play. The games are relatively exciting in comparison to the other team in NY.

They have played excellent basketball since the start of the New Year.

The KNicks are an utter disaster. They don't even have their first round pick this year and are staring a future without even Melo. I have no clue why that guy will stay unless all he cares about is the money.

Knicks have no prospects of being good in the next two years and if Melo leaves then you could extends that to 4-5 years. The Nets have their cap situation to deal with now but in three years they are looking good all the while they will stay competitive and have playoff games in their home building.

Based on how volatile picks in the NBA draft are, even in the top 10, I always felt he should have gone higher than he did. Not a superstar, but super solid and you knew what he was going to bring to the table. He had a high floor. Green, Brewer, Jianlian, Wright all went ahead of him.

I had the benefit of being a UF fan, and thus by draft time had seen a lot of those Noah/Horford/Brewer/Green/Humphrey title teams; I was pretty shocked Brewer went ahead of Noah. I was happy for him, since unlike the other four guys he grew up in fairly tough, decidedly not-affluent circumstances, but of the guys you mentioned he was the player whose selection above Noah most surprised me, and seemed like the clearest reach.

Not complaining though: I was elated he slipped to the Bulls, though it took about a season for most Bulls fans to come around on him—and at the moment, he's probably the most popular athlete in Chicago.

Both the Knicks and Nets are terrible. The Knicks will always be the premier team in NY as players like Melo crave the NY spotlight/endorsements/money/etc. Melo may or may not stay; NY is one of the handful of NBA cities where star players want to play (Miami, LA, NY)

The Nets have no prospect of being anyting but a middle of the road team (like the Hawks were for years) They have a bunch of players that are over the hill, a decent big man that can play 20 games in a row without getting hurt, and one of the most over rated PGs in the NBA in Deron Williams. They aren't evena .500 team in the East....LOL.

They aren't a 500 team in the east right now. They will finish a few games over 500 by the end of the year and have been playing solid basketball since the start of the new year.

Knicks always were the big ticket in NY because they were the only team. The area that was developed in Brooklyn for the Barclays center is beautiful with some elite neighborhoods that will attract the high price tickets courtside that every organization craves.

Nobody is going to win in the East while Lebron is still in Miami but you need to win to attract fans. The dynamic that I have stressed in NY will happen. Brooklyn residents have strong civic pride and that will cut into the Knicks fans base severely.

How many NBA players do you hear about playing in the Barclays whatever center? How many do you hear mention playing in Madison Square Garden?

Well because how long has MSG been around? The Barclays will get their reputation soon enough. Again, MSG will always hold more events because its Manhattan but in terms of people that love basketball...you'll find more of those in Brooklyn then you would in Manhattan.

You guys can laugh all you want and I never said this process would take a year or two. This will be a gradual process as the next generation of basketball fans are deciding who to root for. You can bet your ass that the kids who grow up in BK will root for the team that has BK across their chest.

They can, i'd imagine they'll use it on Boozer to give Gibson the starting PF spot next season.

And try to make a run at Melo this summer.

Yeah, they need to use it on Boozer for sure. Its too bad Rose is always hurt now because the Bulls would be one of the 3 or 4 best teams in the league.
Thibs is the best coach in th eleague for my money.

Great reply as always. You continue to ignore the dynamic of the boroughs. It just shows you have no clue what you are talking about when it comes to NY.

That's the only reply that statement deserves.....You've been to MSG and you still say that? Makes no sense, there's nothing like MSG when the Knicks are good, nothing.

Can the Bulls amnesty Rose?

No; Rose's current deal was signed posterior to the current CBA, so his contract is ineligible for amnesty.

As cheap as they are, they also wouldn't—at least not until they saw if he could play 2014–15 at a reasonably healthy level.

Not sure if they'll actually make a run at Anthony, since they'll likely need a healthy chunk of change to bring Nikola Mirotic over from Spain (and, unlike Anthony, he's on the right side of 30), but I feel fairly certain they amnesty Boozer.

So there is nothing like MSG once every 10 years?

Again, MSG has a history so of course its laughable to compare it to the Barclays center. But, BK has everything that is needed to create an amazing atmosphere for a basketball game. The Barclays center is a beautiful basketball areana on par with any in sports.

What a damn shame. The Bulls don't need much more than they have now to get over the top. If they had another elite level shooter they could be dangerous. Noah is fantastic. How he isn't on a max contract is amazing to me.

The Nets are going to be the Atlanta Hawks.....a fancy new stadium isn't going to change that. Cling to that dream if you want, put on WFAN/ESPN radio any day you want....unless Evan is on the FAN no hosts, no callers talk about the Nets....but they are taking over, right?

When did I ever say this would be a 2 year process?

How many kids grow up in Brookly vs. outside of Brooklyn?

NO ONE TALKS ABOUT THEM.....NO ONE. You're the only person I ever hear bringing them up. Seriously, listen to the NY stations and count how many Net calls they take, if they aren't taking them this year, then when? Because the Nets are going to be horrible for the next 4-5 years.
