NBA Thread

I still can’t wrap my head around it. Maybe the criticism of Gobert is overblown, but if I’m trading essentially 4 unprotected first rounders, it can’t be for a player where there’s even a question of whether he can be on the court down the stretch of playoff games.

I hope my Knicks pass on Mitchell. There was a time when I wanted him, but with 6’1” Jalen Brunson now in the backcourt, I can’t see how those two would make sense together. Way too small a backcourt.

Conley/Mitchell backcourt was fine until it wasn’t. I think Mitchell moving forward needs to be playing the point and get length at the other guard position.

Man - Still can't believe you got that haul for Gobert.

Its not the PG3 trade assets OKC got but this is really going to kickstart a rebuild/re-boot if done correctly. May only have 2 down years.

Starting to lean towards Nets keeping KD and the Nets winning the east next year.

I'm so interested in seeing how Simmons would look with KD/Kyrie and all the nets shooting...

I don’t see how they trade him for anything close to his on court value. Any deal with Phoenix is extremely complicated. Miami doesn’t have the trade assets. Toronto has the trade assets to get any star they want - is KD, with his age and mercurial reputation, the one you want to go after?

Thunder should put an incentive in Chet’s contract to not take any charges. If he ever decides to get in front of Giannis, hide the women and children.

I'm pretty geeked up.

It may have actually worked out great that OKC fell to six last year because its going to be hard to find a distributor (not PG because I think he ends up at SF) like Giddey. And who knows...maybe Chet ends up being better than Mobley.

Funnest part of the NBA. Those couple years before your team is good. Guys are just excited to be there and can’t wait to sign the rookie max. Memphis is at the absolute peak.

Just right before “disease of me” sets in.

Think this is where 'makeup' is key in picking these guys. You never know how boys progress as men when the fame reaches a certain level but so far all the guys have bought into what OKC is doing and the team is becoming a coveted destination for players. Its rumored that Chet specifically tanked his workout with Orlando because he was dying to come to OKC. Having Giddey helps!!!

We will see. KD had great makeup too. Remember how cute it was when he signed his extension with OKC with no fanfare?

Westbrook was a disaster of a teammate.

Presti deserves blame for trading Harden over Westbrook. But overall Westbrook ruined a team that should have won multiple titles.

Their asking price isnt even reasonable but the Gobert trade probably screwed up the market. KD is soon to be 34 though. 5+ picks/swaps, a star, and another top player is pretty crazy even for someone as good as KD. Toronto is probably the only team who could make a realistic offer of like Barnes/GTJ/OG/salary filler/picks, but no way Masai would do that.

Jazz and Knicks engaged in a Mitchell deal. That's always been the most likely team if he got dealt. They can offer up to 8 first round picks but the deal would probably be something like Rose, Obi, Quickley, Grimes and 4-5 picks.

I’d like to see a multi-team trade that gets Durant to the Suns, Mitchell to the Nets, picks and stuff to the Jazz.

Thats probably the best path for all parties. I just dont know if BK can get what they want realistically for Durant. I mean they asked for KAT, Ant, and picks for KD from Min, like come on man. I think Utah mostly wants picks and to be really bad next year so they can get in on the Victor sweepstakes and the Knicks have the most picks they can offer them.
