New Bally Sports Streaming Is Coming. However……….

My understanding is that it is likely Bally will add more teams before next season.

$20 a month is steep, but I've always said I'd pay the extra $10-$15 if they would get to the point that they had a standalone app so I could switch back to YTTV - particularly now that football season is beginning to draw near and DirecTV Stream doesn't carry the NFL Network. Still less than $1 a game. Already thinking about paying extra to pick back up with YTTV early now that the NFL camp reports will start being more detailed and important. Going to cost extra to carry both for the next 6-7 weeks if I do (like $130), so that's more or less what it would cost for 6 months of the Bally standalone for a full season - WAY cheaper than having to carry both during baseball season just to have the Bally channels for 3 hours every night.

I just made the decision a while ago I wasn’t going to go hopping from service to service just to watch a baseball game announced by Chip Caray. And I’m not a diehard Hawks fan. When MLB gets to a point where it eliminates blackouts and I can just pay the upfront annual fee for MLB TV, let me know.

As much as I hate to say it, I hate the national games (MLB Network/ESPN/TBS) even worse - probably because I can't stand the announcers on those games.

I've actually gotten to the point that I can look past Chip's stupidity and treat it as a comedic sideshow between plays - I like that he gets excited when something good happens and have gotten used to that sound, and enjoy hearing having someone talk about the good old days when his Dad/Pete/Ernie were the soundtrack of my summers for the majority of my younger years. I just tune him (and Frenchy and B. J.) out when it comes to talking about the actual strategies/metrics/numbers.

I enjoy Ben and Joe because they don’t bend over backward to sugarcoat everything. Last postseason, I streamed the radio and synched up with the TV and it was excellent. That said, I like the TBS crew for the most part.

Ben is excellent and Joe has found another gear since he moved to the radio side.
