New Truck Advice

We had one but I think it was called a Ford Explorer?

If anyone in the SE finds a nice shape Ford Bronco from the mid 90s, lemme know. Want it for me
And my sons when they turn 16.

These are cool. A buddy in high school had a 70 something f100 that he bought from the state and fixed up. That truck was immaculate and I've wanted one since.

I adore those trucks. My grandfather had that and the next gen, were the best. The next 2 were good too. But after that is when Ford lost my interest. They started looking too much like SUVs. Which I get from a ease of assembly purpose, but they lost all their old charm IMO.

It wouldn't surprise me if the next truck I get after this one is electric. The strides they're making are incredible. If the next generation of batteries can charge even faster and go as far or further than a tank of gas then it will be really tempting.

My next car will be electric. Like I said above I almost got one this time but I bought before the Mustang Mach E came out because I got 0% financing. I love my Escape. It's a great car for what I need. But all electric or Plug in Hybrid is where my next car will be. My "concern" is travelling home to NJ. BEcause of recharge time and potential lines make me nervous.

I see one running around here some weekends with the top completely chopped off. Sad. Those were cool cars.

Yeah. I have the same reservations. I'd have to have at least a gas backup with the technology where it is now.

We're not too far out from batteries that will allow a vehicle to go 1,000 miles or that can recharge fully in a matter of minutes. Once we get there and the infrastructure to support it is in place, that's when the electric car revolution will really pick up.

The truck came in on Saturday. She's a beauty. I have to say that everyone who advocated for the full size pickup was 100% correct.

UPDATE-

I'll pick one up Sunday I think. 1994 Eddie Bauer Edition Ford Bronco with the 5.8 and push button 4wd. Needs some seat recovering on the drivers side, and maybe a new headlight or two (one has moisture in it) and some paint.

I went to see my dad's house ( they moved two months ago) and an old guy in the neighborhood had one sitting there in REALLY good shape. He tossed out a number as I circled it, and my wife cut her eyes at me and we had a deal. Interior is great, new tires, etc... all really nice. Has some paint issues, but I don't love the color anyway. Its a dark red and tan. May end up navy metallic and tan once we get her painted up.

That's awesome. Definitely post some pictures once you get it!
