News On Will Smith

He's a RP not a SP so i dont know how much he needs to be built up.

Melancon was unavailable yesterday and they probably didnt want to push Chris Martin. Not sure why it wasnt Shane Greene in the 10th.
 
Will Smith activated, bullpen gets even more deeper.

To make room on the active roster, Atlanta designated OF Scott Schebler for assignment. Following last night’s game the #Braves optioned RHP Chad Sobotka and C Alex Jackson to the club’s alternate training site.

i guess once Neck opted back in, Schebler became expendable.
 
It wont happen but i hope we use Smith as more than just a closer, like bring him in during the 6th or 7th to get out of a jam. Sometimes a game can be won then.

Isn't that, in fact, the whole plan? Hence why Melancon was announced as the intended nominal "closer" this off-season, in spring, and even (iirc) in the broadcast yesterday.

Well, Smith hasnt pitched yet so i guess we'll see. But using Smith like that is how he should be used.
