NL rookie of year

Yep, I almost brought that up when Enscheff said Albies will be our second best player this year... so it will be Acuna, then Albies, then Freeman..lol.

Don't look now, but the old man in RF has the 2nd highest WAR in the NL thanks to a top 10 defensive WAR ranking.

Since I don't track it, not sure exactly how close he is - but at $8 million/WAR he's going to come far closer to "earning" his contract than most people gave him a chance to. A 2 win season would put him at 5.3 over his 4 years.

Not sure even the sunniest of sunny on him expected as much.

I don't think many expected Coppy/Hart to get fired and actually have an analytics minded front office come in and help Neck

Do you think he changed something. Not sure I agree. Just a good start. Or you referring to defensive positioning.

Positioning has certainly helped some.

Also a good portion of his plus defense so far is from his arm. Now that is something I think is just a fluke and not something I would expect to continue. So I would put that in the good start category. Still, Neck's overall game so far has been impressive.
