Oakland A's Finally Moving?

That's gotta be like a month's salary in Mississippi.

No kidding. I had to go to cash for (car) titles. Luckily, I had enough change to roll up to make up the difference between ticket price and what they offered for my title

Great for baseball and the As.

I don't understand the hatred of the As ownership. Seems like low information populism. First, owners don't pay players out of their own pockets. The idea that Fisher is cheap or a bad owner because his payroll is low is nonsensical. Relatedly, the stadium was a dump, and the city of Oakland wouldn't build them a new one. So, the As are going to receive hundreds of millions of dollars towards a state-of-the-art stadium off one of the two or three most famous streets in the world. How is that exemplary of poor ownership?

Rays will get a new stadium in the Tampa region, and then we'll add Nashville and Utah.

Exciting times.

Boy, that Tampa stadium at the bottom of the Pinellas peninsula was a spectacularly bad idea. Takes a 45 minutes to an hour to get there from most of the TSP metro area.

Even worse, it pre-existed the Rays by several years. They CHOSE to be in that stadium instead of building a new one from the start.

Isn't the new stadium proposal in the exact same spot the Trop is in? The rendering of the new stadium and surrounding area looks phenomenal. The Braves truly are the gold standard on that front.

A’s were the 5th most profitable team in 2022 which is a joke.
