O'er the Land of the Free

Read Jonathan Kozol's Savage Inequalities to realize how really callous Monsanto is. They have a huge chemical plant in East St. Louis, Illinois, and they somehow managed to get a tax break that precludes them from paying property taxes, which impoverishes the East St. Louis school district, which has very high needs.

A large corporation received a local tax benefit to build a large plant!? :YDS:

It goes way beyond a simple tax break. I can't remember exactly how it works, but the net effect is Monsanto gives the city of East St. Louis zero in property tax revenue. At least they did when Savage Inequalities was written.

Monsanto is the worst. They're literally a villainous corporation that's from a comic. They're the worst.

Is this the company which will unleash the zombie apocalypse on America? East St Louis is ground central. If it happens I hope I get turned quickly.
