Official 2017 Trade Deadilne Thread

the idea that Albies is less valuable to the team since we already have Inciarte to lead off doesn't hold water. the two are potentially a very dynamic combination at the top of the order.

couldn't agree more. i don't understand that line of thinking.

Wonder how badly the Cubs want to dump Heywards contract. I'm not a big Heyward fan but I think he can regain some of what he lost if he can get out of Chicago. I would offer the Cubs Kemp, Wisler, and Sims for Heyward and the Cubs pay about 50 percent of his salary after he declines his opt outs.

The Cubs would save at least 10 mil a year.

Markakis could play LF until Acuna is ready then become the 4th OF.

You must really like heyward.

Whether or not we trade Markakis or Kemp, it is starting to look like Acuna will be one of our corner outfielders in 2018. Hopefully not from opening day for service time reasons, but for most of the season.

That would be funny, if we ended up getting Heyward back as a salery dump. Won't happen....but my gosh that would be funny. Talk about having your cake and eating it to.

Five Trades the Braves Should Make: https://fansided.com/2017/07/11/braves-rumors-mlb-trade-deadline-2017/

1. Trade Matt Adams to the Yankees

2. Trade Nick Markakis to the Royals

3. Trade Brandon Phillips to the Angels

4. Trade R.A. Dickey and Jim Johnson to the Twins

5. Trade Jaime Garcia and Kurt Suzuki to the Rockies

I just don't see these pieces being all that desirable. Braves basically got Adams for free a few months ago. Not sure we're going to just flip him for something more useful in a matter of months. If we do, the Yankees would be a great fit for him. A lot of these teams who have needs and are in the race right now aren't really buyers. The Twins are going to give up anything for anyone. Neither will the Royals. The Rockies are saturated with catchers like Suzuki. Jamie Garcia in Coors would be fun to watch though.

I wouldn't move RA Dickey.

The dude is just fine as a 5th starter, eats innings and has been pretty solid of late. I like having him in that 2018 rotation at least to start the season.

Crazy considering last year we were thinking Acuna's ETA was 2020

So are we really going to have something to get excited about today or was it Acuna being promoted to AAA?

Really wish we could've found a way to get Eloy at some point. Love him.

This also takes one team looking for controllable pitching out of the race and moves Teheran up one spot on the list of guys available.

Thank god we won't trade a bounty for Quintana, and the White Sox continue to add to an impressive farm system.

The Chapman trade last year and Quintana trade this year has really thinned the Cubs farm system. Great trade for Sox. Cubs have to win now because they closing their window with these trades.
