Official 2022 Offseason Moves Thread

Once upon a time sports were used a models of conduct for children and athletes were viewed as heros to the younger ones. It was only 25 or so years ago when the star pitcher on my youngest sons HS team was kicked off the team for "stealing" a doughnut from a fund raising table in the hallway. He was good enough that he got a typical college scholarship to pitch at a division 1 school.

What is the word on Bauer?

Charles Barkley said it best regarding athletes....

Re: Bauer. Nothing yet but his situation has always looked a lot worse, imo, than Ozuna's.

To play first and if they add DH Max Muncy go there.

Right now, they're probably looking at.

Will Smith- C
Max Muncy- 1B
Gavin Lux- 2B
Trea Turner- SS
Justin Turner- 3B
AJ Pollock- LF
Cody Bellinger- CF
Mookie Betts- RF
DH- TBD

Still a fully capable lineup, probably better than ours. If they bring back Chris Taylor, they can shift Justin Turner to DH. I'm not sure they'd shell out the years on a deal for Freeman but you never know with the Dodgers. Their rotation is a concern right now pending if they get Kershaw back.

Let’s just hope Ozuna will have some resemblance of 2020 Ozuna instead of the disaster he was to start 2021

This is my fear. We all know he has had issues staying in shape, and who knows what has happened to him over the past year.

Ozuna put up a 1.067 OPS in 60 games in 2020. He followed it up with a .645 OPS in 48 games in 2021. If he's the latter guy, he won't be on the team for long regardless of his off the field issues.

And its not like he was just getting unlucky. His barrel % was way down, his exit velocity was a career low, his hard hit % was the worst of his career, all of his expected stats were way down, and his walk rate was down 5% from 2020.
