Official 2022 Offseason Moves Thread

Yes, and before you wriggle around looking for some crazy way to justify doing so it really is that simple and needs no explanation.

The Braves aren't sending Ozzie's Grandmother money in the hopes of resigning him down the road are they?

Does Ozzies grandmother play baseball and regarded as one of the top international prospects?

Acuna number 2 may not of wanted to be the with the braves. If I was him I would want to be in another organization. There is going to be enough comparison, you don't need everything to be the same.

I love that we are signing guys again. It seems like our big money guys have failed and our low money guys have been great. We really need some talent at the low minors so this is great for us.

We spend 5 million dollars and hope one of them is a MLB player. If so, it is money well spent. Anything more than that is a home run. You get a starter out of it every couple of classes and that is amazing.

I'd agree that Acuna's brother may not want to live in his shadow. Otherwise, its a bad move IMO not to sign him.

Its peanuts compared to what Acuna gives the organization and with the hopes he doesn't bend us over in a few years demanding an extention.

Worth noting this is Acuña Bro #3. Number Two (Luisangel) previously signed with the Rangers, to seemingly no ill effect on Yunior’s relationship with the Bravos.

If I know one thing it’s that tehteh always comes up with logically sound ideas, and is never wrong. He is one of the great thinkers of this modern age.

Therefore, the Braves should give every member of Acuna’s family who even looks a baseball a check for $1M.

You're getting more wise with age.

Discussing what a player might cost in trade is what we do here, fool. We add up prospect values to match surplus values of MLB players all the time.

I also said many times I was against trading Fried based on his statcast numbers.

You’ve proved beyond all doubt to everyone here you’re an idiot. Please keep it coming with more posts like these. It provides entertainment during the lockout.

Sure thing guy - You're so brilliant you wanted to trade Fried and Riley for scrubs. A #1 pitcher and a a top 5 third basemen in baseball. Well done!!!

Think about that next time you bring up something on anyone else.

What you do you is extract data and determine causation. You aren't a scout. You are a good computer engineer. Stop pretending its anything else.

Off-topic, but the Georgia sports curse is officially history.

Anyone know how much profit the braves pulled in last year? I know it's all publically available but I don't want to find it.

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/01/why-havent-the-braves-paid-freddie-freeman.html

this article quotes us at 35 million in profit for quarter 2 on a 145 million dollar payroll. 129 committed (not sure if that includes arb projections).

Here are all of Liberty medias financials:

https://www.libertymedia.com/investors/financial-information/sec-filings?form_type=10-Q&year=

3 months ended Sept 30:

Revenue - 234M
Operating income - 30M
Adjusted OIBDA (internal KPI) - 55M

It is. Especially when you have a limited cap. Not a BS limit from owners, like a real limit. Blowing 20% on any Acuna might not be smart.

It doesn't matter.

The most important thing is to always make sure that one of the top 5 players in the game is happy so that he plays out his career as a Brave.
