Official 2022 Offseason Moves Thread

Acuna, Duvall, Ozuna, Rosario, Heredia, Dickerson!!!!!!!!!!!! Show me an WS defending OF from among those 6.

Waters will almost assuredly be expected to contribute this year as well. Hope he is up to the task. The talent is there, just gotta put it together. Decent chance we could see Justin Dean as well. Apart from that, a Harris (Trey or Michael) or Jesse Franklin would have to have a pretty amazing year to reach Atl.

Don't forget that our bullpen got much better with the addition of Yates and McHugh. The Dodgers pen seems to have taken a good step back.

Agree on McHugh... don't know about Yates... we aren't likely to see him until June/July at the earliest and the success rate coming back from 2 TJS is very low

I think you are right.

BUT...
1. Martin was pretty good at parts of last year
2. Yates is coming off TJ number 2 and is older
3. Who the F knows what bullpens will do?

No doubt there are question marks, but on paper I feel like we have the better bullpen.

Matzek
Minter
Jackson
McHugh
Smith

I'm guessing that Newk and Touki are likely the long relivers.

We will also have an influx of guys from AAA that don't make it into the rotation by midseason.

I'd love to see a Strider (I always type Striker initially)/Elder call-up in July after they've logged some good innings at AAA.

I don't believe this at all.

His teammates were publicly asking for him to be resigned. They said it at the parade. You could hear it and see it in the interviews done after the Olson trade that they were sad to lose him.

I will grant there may be some piece of shock/awe/worry that AA would do that. I'm sure a guy like Dansby knows full well that if FF negotiations went down like that, they are not overpaying or even market paying him b/c of his hometown connections.

It seems clear that all of the evidence was FF was great and everyone wanted him back. Players all think they will play until 40 and be awesome.

By all accounts, we offered Freeman market value AAV. He wanted a 6th year and may have preferred the west coast.

Idk who to believe at this point.
MLB radio is reporting that Tampa had the second best offer at 6/150
I think the Braves offered 130/140 over 5
Anyways hope Olson can withstand the pressure on him and make it a mute point by producing the way he has in the past

2 smart teams offered 6 years. Interesting

While I agree that the Dodgers may be better on paper than the Braves right now... the same was true last year.

Put a good team on the field. Play well enough to make the playoffs. Make a timely addition or two at the deadline, and you always have a chance.

The Braves are Defending Champions, and definite contenders.

Dodgers: Better line up worst bullpen and starters.
