i don't buy that. The Orioles didn't have the horses to win. Let's paly this out otherwise, They'd be facing the Rays maybe they get through to the LCS, but then they would get rocked like a hurricane by Houston or Texas. Orioles pitching was quite miserable. Orioles had the 7th highest team wRC+ and compared to Tampa at 1st, Texas 2nd, Houston 3rd. Even giving them the baserunning boost, they're 5th in the AL, with the same top 3. They are 5th in ERA- FIP- and xFIP-. Houston beating them on ERA- and TB beating them FIP- and xFIP-.

Baltimore was a super lucky team, and they could have ridden that luck to the World Series, but if you were a better person, betting on them being bounced before the World Series would be an easy bet.
 
LAD and ATL have the top 4 offensive players in the national league. There were the top offenses in the league. They've scored 13 runs in 6 games.

Welcome to small sample sizes. **** sucks when you collectively take a dump.

BRaves vs. Phillies in regular season they played us well, we only had a .810 OPS against them. It wasn't like the Marlins or Mets who we beat the piss out of. Our let down was that during the regular season or pitchers handled Philly pretty well.

My point is 5 day layoffs for offenses is pretty clearly a negative. There's a reason players do rehab assignments when coming back from an injury

The current playoff system also self selects hot teams to face them. The bye is actively a disadvantage.

The Astros will have 3 off.. and the bye layoff didn't hurt them at all. maybe it is just teams that are built to win divisions aren't great in the postseason. Maybe when the postseason comes around managers are exposed. I don't know.. but hopefully the Braves can get some homers tonight and then get to have another day off before going home again. Maybe if we win in 5, the Dbags will be cold and out of sync.
 
The Astros did have to scratch and claw to win their division on the last day, and even in the last week of the season a playoff berth wasn't assured.
 
It's truly wild how much this Arcia story has blown up. Now all the baseball media is turning against the Braves about it. Fun times.

This Jake Mintz guy is not going to be welcomed in clubhouses in the future. I have seen quite a few players calling him out (Kevin Gausman most recently),
 
People get on DOB for some of his takes and lack of being able to get the scoop on stories, but he and Toscano both have done some really good stories with players willing to go in-depth with them. This guy blasting Arcia's joke around the world hurts that kind of dynamic even if it isn't their fault.

For sure. That fraternity of beat writers have to be one the ones most angry. Mintz got his chops as 1/2 of CespedesBBQ. It’s unreal that he got a press credential.
 
Harper is one of the biggest D-bags in the sport. He should be getting mocked openly on the field by everyone. His reaction to an opponent saying "atta boy" in the clubhouse after a game shows just how much of a delicate, prima donna he is.
