Yeah he's probably out all year next year after just going through TJS but I saw somewhere we have 5 years of control on him.

Perdomo is interesting. He's an absolute giant and he put up some good numbers in a little bit of a SSS for Pitt last year. Can't have too much pen depth.
Seems like we are slowly filling that 40 man back up but glad White is now off the 40 man officially.
I’m starting to think AA may be done for now. And I think that’s the best course of action- and here’s why:
We walked away with the division last year and had one of the very best offenses of all time.
This ‘24 team is now even better as it stands today.
We did all of that (won all those games) without Fried for most of the year. We had to plug and play a whole pile of AAAA fifth starter fodder. This ‘24 pitching staff is even better today too- we have Max back, and the younger guys -such as AJSS -have had some experience to grow from.
Assuming Max stays healthy, we have two TOR ace level pitchers in he and Strider. That leaves uncle Charlie as the three and the same pile of scraps we got by with last year. Gonna need to outscore a bunch of people- doesn’t seem like that should be a problem.
So, we sit tight and then get a big time pitcher at the deadline when there should be several available as the bottom half of the league drops out- unless there are just zero guys whose contracts will be coming up (and I’m too lazy to look this up) that are playoff dependable playing on teams that won’t be in contention. We will just need one - and if AJSS or Waldrep or etc are ready, we might not even need one at all.
And we can keep Grissom for infield insurance should someone get hurt.
I’d much rather this course of non- action as opposed to trading our previous few pieces for Cease or etc.
So let’s just head to Florida with what we got and let our farm keep developing- I’d rather our group of young stud pitchers stay in our organization would hate to see someone like Steve Avery develop for the White Sox…
just my two pennies.
He's off the 40-man, but he's still collecting his big coin.
The one thing I want is another impact pitcher for the post season. We saw this year how big an impact that is in a short series. Having Morton as a number 4 starter in the playoffs would be an incredible luxury.
Basically, we need to build for the playoffs, not for the regular season.
Starting pitching wasn’t really the issue in the LDS for us. It was Snit not using a fully rested bullpen that had 5 days off between end of regular season and Game 1, then a day off between Game 1 and 2 and then another between 2 and 3.
This is the same dude that said in May “if I keep using my best guys every night they won’t make it to October”.
*Pretty much has all his best relievers available for LDS fully rested*
and still opts to try and squeeze more innings out of Elder (and letting him pitch to Harper with men on) and then proceeds to use Tonkin because he’s trying to rest his best guys for what?!?!
Elder shouldn't see the field in the playoffs except to eat innings in a blowout. That's why I want another impact starter.
Funnily enough, snits best playoff managing came in 2020 and 2021 when we were short on starters and had to run bullpen games.
Elder would have been fine as an opener or bulk innings guy.
Would love to see a iBader signing for our 4th OF opening. Could be part a strong part of a 3 way platoon with Harris and JK.
