I've given up trying to figure it out. All I think I know is the Braves are squarely above the 1st tier and perhaps into the 2nd tier. It's nice to be worrying about such a high payroll number.
 
If we are so concerned about payroll, then I really don't understand the recent moves of adding useless payroll. I realize we needed to take on bad contracts to get Kelenic. What I don't get is the why we keep eating more dead money with every subsequent trade.

Kelenic have about 5 years left of his contract. Probably he see the potential and probably they want to draft him but Mets took him with the 6th. We took Carter Stewart with the 8th.
 
Morosi tweeted this: Mariners RHP Bryce Miller is drawing steady trade interest, as Seattle looks to add offense despite payroll limits. It is difficult to envision Miller being dealt unless the Mariners (a) acquire an impact bat in the trade and (b) also add a starter via trade or FA.


I would imagine he's someone the Braves front office loves - he's got big time rise on his fastball that they seem to prioritize and had a good rookie year. I'm just not sure we have the pieces to get him. Maybe if they see Grissom as an impact bat... but even then, it would be tough.
 
Dodgers will extend Glasnow and he’ll be Mike Hampton part 2. I could see them getting Snell if they whiff on Yamamoto.
 
Buehler, Miller, Glasnow, big name FA is a pretty nasty front 4, with guys like Sheehan, Yarbaugh others in waiting.

Braves lose the offseason every year. Really sucks to not make the offseason playoffs
