Jack Flaherty sign with the Tigers…

But with the Braves and run support he had the chance to be the next Javier Vazquez.

Giolito is another player.

What are you looking for in a fourth outfielder that Pillar doesn’t give you?

Where do I start? Can't play CF extensively anymore. Had .294 OBP last season (and that counts his decent first half). Second half of the season he had .547 OPS. I just think that makes it hard to make a case why he should be on the 2024 roster.

I think we have a better team on paper but I still don’t like Arcia. We need a upgrade.

You want an upgrade. Unless you have a problem with his defense we have the best offense in the majors by a mile even if Arcia hits like Melvin. If we could get a SS who can hit Phillies pitching in early October I would be all for it but its impossible to tell who that is. We cant have MVP caliber players at every position. I would say all star but Arcia literally was an all star.

You would think any SP not likely to get a long term deal would want to play for us on a 1 year deal. There are still many teams out there that will overpay based on the wins stat.

I called either Stroman or Giolito earlier this off-season and I stand by that prediction.
We will still be a beast regardless if we get another pitcher or not but I don’t like banking on the health of Morton or Max along with Lopez or one of the young guys being up to the task to start a key game in the playoffs.
I mean Stroman or Gio aren’t much better but the stats from seasons past say they are lol

I've been saying since they signed Lopez and said the plan was to extend him to start that they were done. Ownership is fckn cheap...Just wait until Ronald comes up for his extension...if he makes it that far of course

They just aren't going to pay pitchers or above market value for a super stat position player.

The guy I like is Pablo López he still have 4 years. 8/21/21/21 millions. He have 27 years old. The perfect number 3 for this team.

Cheap lol. If AA doesn’t get another good SP after all the money he blew for Kelenic and on the bullpen then this is all on him and not on ownership. Not sure how this will all shake out if AA stands pat on the rotation again and we come up short and the pitching is to blame. I know Glasnow is injury prone but that wasnt a bad deal at all for him the Dodgers paid. I feel like AA has a certain pitcher or pitchers hes after and wont settle.

I really think he's betting on 3 of Fried, Strider, Morton, Lopez, Ynoa, Anderson, Waldrep, AJSS to be good enough to start playoff games. If not he can try to add at the deadline or use someone like Elder as an opener and turn it over to the very good and very expensive bullpen.
I think that's a reasonable position to take.

Just like we ate the bs about Soroka & Wright coming back. Plus Fried returning from injury and it was like getting great pitchers at the trade deadline…

I expect zero from Ian Anderson... Soroka had two Achilles tears (rare to come back from), elbow and shoulder problems... sadly it is not likely he will ever be a solid contributor for anyone again. Wright's shoulder surgery has a fairly low success rate and I doubt he is ever going to do much again... maybe he could end up having some pen success.

Ynoa has a real shot to still come back strong if he can get the feel back after TJS
