Official 2024 Off-Season Thread!

Kelenic in LF is very exciting to me….. we already have the best lineup in all of MLB - and it just got a good bit better - with MUCH better D. ….. and there’s a chance we just stole a budding star who’s gonna hit 40 dingers. 😇😇😇😇😇😇

There should be no angst about this trade at all. While pedigree means squat until you produce, this is the kind of trade you make that could be of minimal return but it doesn't set your mlb team back or the minors and you've potentially set yourself up to only need to worry about small adjustments to the roster when needed. Kelenic is a good player to dream on if he even approaches some of the minor league production he once had. I'd bet on the Braves staff too.

Agreed all around, but the thing is, this team doesn’t even need Kelenic to be that good. If he can just be average he’s a good get. I think he’ll be better than average, but there’s essentially zero risk here unless he totally ****s the bed.

AA has acquired players this offseason and turned around and moved them shortly after.....

They were speculating on the radio this morning that Kelenic could be used to acquire a ToR starter....

At this point, who knows what the **** AA has up his sleeves.

Or Soto lol.

The Gonzalez part is what makes me sure that at least a couple guys are going to be traded out of our starting pitching crop. If I were Elder, Ynoa, or Ian Anderson, I'd probably be anticipating a trade at some point.

With plenty of SP depth right now I’d expect a deal in the next couple of days. Grissom is just being hyped by AA to help his value. Elder, Grissom, AJSS, and Schwellenbach I’d say probably gets Cease.

I can’t really figure out why the white Sox would want Elder unless they’d hope to flip him during the year if he’s pitching well.

Elder seems like a guy that would bring more value to a team like Milwaukee or Tampa, as they still have hopes of competing going forward.

Hopefully we can move Evan White because 7 millions for a bench player is overpay.

Maybe a team like the Pirates or Reds need a first base.

He is 27 and he hasn't played in the Majors since 2021. No one is taking on Evan White from us without us eating the entire contract. We could cut him, but I would expect us to put him in AAA. We need bodies on the 40 man anyways.

I could see the Rays take him in a trade for Glasnow. Elder is a cheap starting pitcher who had good success last season. They seem to always get the best out of guys like him.

I’m not sure what the “best” of Bryce Elder is moving forward though, and the Rays tend to like projects with raw stuff over a guy like Elder. I’d be thrilled if they value him much at all.

After watching highlights of Marco Gonzaelz from this last season, I hope he is not AA's answer to rotation help.....Dudes fastball sits around 87-88 and his offspeed is around 78-79. if he doesn't hit his spots, he will get lit up at Truist Park.

I think he is a fifth starter at best. He is the new Anibal Sanchez.
