Official 2024 Off-Season Thread!

Saw where the Mets signed Jose Iglesias to a minor league deal. Sure wish we could have made that move. Sure seems like a pretty terrific back-up SS and we have zero depth there.

There is not a pitcher more opposite of what AA likes than Gonzales. I don't think trading him means anything other than wanting to clear him from the payroll.

Good to see folks resorting to arguing semantics to keep the glimmer of hope alive for Ohtani. Pretty funny actually.

An actual interesting thing that happened is the Yankees trade for Verdugo for a low end BP arm, a 40 FV SP prospect, and another prospect that isn’t on the FG lists. That’s what AA passed on for Kelenic, so we can use him as a good gauge for the results of that move.

Verdugo is likely 5 million extra than kelenic + white on the luxury tax. Plus the years of controll for kelenic. I like the braves move more.

Hopefully AA is not done but we had a solid line up last year and a very good bullpen. Our weakness is the rotation and nothing is done yet…

Marco's owed 12.5M this year, 15M next year but no money for the club option buyout. So maybe just a little over/under half at 6 million? Or i guess the 4.5M the M's are sending us makes sense too as others said.

AA's presser pretty much confirmed he's adding a starter. Didnt hype up any of the young or internal options. He'll add there. Plenty of options still out there.
