Official 2024 Off-Season Thread!

Showhey going to the jays is comical. Going from one franchise that never wins to another that barely wins really says a lot about how much the dude wanted to go to a winning culture.

They said that the ballpark in Toronto reminded Ohtani of his home park back in Japan and loved it and wanted that feeling of playing at home again. He visited their training facility in Florida to and loved it.

After trading for Soto and Verdugo to fix the OF for 1 year the Yankees almost have to sign Yama plus 1 more legit SP. If they don’t rebuild the rotation it won’t matter how good the OF is.

Its gonna have to be a team full of high K pitchers too cause its gonna be one of the worst defensive teams of all time

I know Judge holds down CF fairly decent- but that doesn’t need to be the recipe to keep your star on the field at a whopping 6’7.

Well, baseball is an entertainment business and watching Judge in center certainly will be entertaining.

He's actually played plenty of CF for the Yankees in the past including last year. He doesn't grade our too poorly. I'd be most concerned about him breaking down or getting injured.

Not to mention word got out of him touring their Spring Training facilities and meeting with their brass there the other day.

This was a smart move by the Jays.

I don’t think taking a kid used to the weather in Anaheim to Toronto right now would go over too well….

I'm more talking about seeing a 6-7 giant lumbering around the outfield. Even if he grades out well there should be some pretty funny, awkward plays.

They could just move Grisham there, and have Judge/Soto rotate the DH slot.
