It's wild to think he was a 3 WAR player one year.

Nicky Lopez was a 6-WAR player just a couple seasons ago. Weird how that stuff can happen. Happening to Bryson Stott this year. Weak bay but over performance on his xwOBA and being boosted by defense giving him a high WAR while not really being that good.

Another guy who should have stayed out of the weight room. Arrived in the majors as a slender, defensive-centric, ball-in-play guy who projected as a decent back-up. Had a season where he hit a bunch of HRs and thought that was his game. Having watched the game as long as I have, I realize that almost anyone can have a big season and then fall off the table and I've seen it quite a bit. Looks like Camargo is in that club. It is interesting that he was the Phillies' starting SS for a good portion of the early-2022 season.

He opted out of his Royals' contract about a month ago (he had been injured most of the year), but it looks like this was the Tigers' decision this time around.

I posted in the other thread but Joe Musgrove is being shut down by San Diego for 3 weeks due to shoulder inflammation

Like the Angels, the Padres were another stupid team who should've sold during the trade deadline.

That contract is doo doo starting in year 1.

It’s hilarious to give a guy a standing o for being so bad. If he were a regular FA he wouldn’t get an ovation for being trash. But because they’re stuck with him they’ve got to try anything I guess

Speaking of the Phillies, they traded away Logan O"Hoppe who is the 28th best prospect in baseball according to pipeline. Could have been the heir apparent to Realmuto or their backup. Traded him for Brandon Marsh.

And they gave Mickey Moniak away who’s been roughly equivalent to Marsh this year.

Anybody see the White Sox and Guardians game where Tim Anderson and Jose Ramirez squared up and Jose threw a haymaker and knocked Tim Anderson flat on his back?
