Braves traded elite closer for all star starting pitcher.
Might be the best player AA's traded to date, unless i'm missing someone?

Gsusman is the best player AA has let go as our Gm
I hope we hear someday what happened there. There’s no way they thought he was actually ineffective and he’s been really good since.

Mostly meant let go via trade like a prospect. But you could say Freeman if you wanna add Gausman but the Gausman situation was weird to say the least.
Wasn’t Gausman straight up DFA’d? Not like he was a FA that wasn’t re-signed. Just let go.
With the Marlins taking 2 of 3 from the Phillies, the Phillies lead for the top WC spot is down to 2 games. And their lead over the last WC spot is only 4.5 games. We have 7 games remaining with them. If we could take 5 of those 7 games, we would really be putting them on the playoff bubble. Man it would frigging sweet to help knock them out of the playoffs.
But their remaining schedule seems so incredibly easy, it would take a truly epic collapse for them to miss the playoffs.
Haven't seen this discussed, but the Angels said that they will trade Trout this offseason if he requests a trade. He already said he plans to sit down with the front office to figure out the direction of the team and make a decision from there.
He makes around $35.5M a year for the next 7 years, starting next year at age 32 through 38. Injuries have obviously taken a toll on him recently and his numbers are not what we are accustomed to. Now I am not taking a big go trade for him stance. I don't see him living up to that contract.
Just curious what kind of package it would take to get him and how much cash the Angels would have to throw in to get it done. I expect him to go to Philly if he gets traded. They have Hoskins headed to FA after this season and would have the roster spot available for him.

Goodness. Passan: Right-hander Max Scherzer is expected to miss the remainder of the regular season with a strained teres major -- a muscle that connects the scapula to the humerus. Scherzer is, Texas GM Chris Young told reporters, "unlikely" to pitch in the playoffs.
Ugh. Mets getting the younger Acuna from the corpse of Scherzer really sucks.
