Official Around Baseball 2023 Thread

watching the TB game and the Spring kid (who I really liked in spring training) left the game with something wrong with hand or wrist. Never seen a pitcher throw a strike and hurt his hand on the pitch. really weird.

Watching alot of baseball so far this year, seems like most teams besides the Braves have an advertisement patch on their sleeves. Wonder if the Braves will eventually take advantage of this revenue opportunity. They have some obvious choices local to the Atlanta area like Delta, Coca Cola, Home Depot, Napa, Georgia Power

Go for a synergy choice, Harrah's Cherokee Casino.

The Harrah’s idea is brilliant-
If we did that we could bring back princess winalotta, the chief, and the lucky teepee!

Mets have a golden horseshoe up their ass. Very well should have lost 2/3 to the A's. Braves have had some fortunate games too so i guess it's whatever lol.

Shohei - 1.7 combined rWAR
Trout - 0.7 rWAR

Angels - .500 team.

it's a joke with their budget they haven't been able to build a competitive team around trout and shohei.

But we're gonna take this one deeper. Since Shohei entered the league, he and trout have combined for 54.7 rWAR since shohei joined in 2018. Both have won an MVP award and the angels have a combined record of 335-387

Keep in mind no other teammate duo comes close to that. Bregman and Verlander is the closest and that's 44.5. So despite having the best combo players in baseball for 5+ seasons, the Angels can't win ****.

So now you wind up on Shohei watch, where does he go. He wants to play in the playoffs so you would think a playoff team would be the leader. So with that you have to figure DOdgers and Yankees are right at the front. I wouldn't write off the Mariners trying to lure him in.

I’d guess the Dodgers set out this past offseason so they could go all out for Ohtani. I think teams like the Cubs will throw the bank at him to.

You could probably pick 23 players out of hat to go with Ohtani and Trout and still do better than the Angels have done with those guys. Don't forget, they also had a 5.7 bWAR Simba overlap during this time as well.
