Braves claimed Dereck Rodriguez (son of Pudge) off waivers and assigned him to Gwinnett. Wright went to 60 day IL to make room on the roster.

Braves bringing in a few guys to see if they can get someone to cover some starts at the big league level eventually

So do we stretch out Lee to be a 4-5 inning starter? Snit has already tried to abuse his arm.

I think Minter to the IL and Lee taking on his higher leverage innings in the meantime would be a better way to go. Lutege has to be coming back soon and im sure we could find another back end lefty BP arm if we need it.

So we're quite clearly going to need some relief help at the deadline. Hopefully we get a better idea of who is selling by that time. Most of the bad teams in the league currently have pretty poor relief options, but as of now Brad Hand is # 1 on my list. He has a cheap option for 2024 too.

Dodgers starter Dustin May left the game today with elbow pain. Already had TJS a few years ago. They said there was a drop in his velocity in todays start before he came out. Not a good sign.

I think you might see a revolt by pitchers against the pitch clock. Whether accurate or not, it's going to get blamed for injuries.

I agree. Injuries seem to be up on SP and the pitch clock is gonna be the blame. Curious on how they handle it.

I think adding another 10 seconds or so would fix most complaints. Or getting rid of the dumb pick off rule.

I wonder if there's a way they can start a pitch clock only once a pitcher steps on the rubber. The thing that was slowing down the game wasn't pitchers taking insane amounts of time recovering after a pitch, it was pitchers staring in at batters until the batter calls time and steps out or the pitcher stepping off the rubber and going through the signs again. If you allow pitchers unlimited time between pitches but put a timer on them once they're on the rubber, I think you'd keep the pace of the game up and would eliminate the risk of injuries from pitchers not having enough time between pitches.

The Yankees have finally DFA'd Aaron Hicks. He's probably not a good fit for us right now, between the solid play we're getting from Pillar and Hilliard, Ozuna's (perhaps/probably temporary) resurgence and the fact that Hicks doesn't seem like much of a center fielder at this point, but I figured I'd mention it.

Hitter got a strike called workout the pitcher even on the mound. Omg that’s dumb.

I believe it was Jessie Winker
