Official CBA Negotiation Thread

Nothing from Nightengale, Heyman, or any other baseball writer in about 30 minutes. I can go another hour before I'll be turning in

calling it a night. pushed the deadline to 5pm tomorrow. seems like we should get a deal done and have baseball on time :fingerscrossed:

5 pm deadline today.

There is a clear path to a deal here.

MLB is at the following numbers per Evan Drellich:

CBT- $220 million through 2024, then it's raised to 224 and 230 in '25 and '26. No increase on the tax rates.

Prearb bonus pool- $25 million

Minimum salary- $675,000, which is an 18% increase

Anyone seen anything about an international draft? It was always talked about like it would be a certainty in these negotiations, but I don't think I've seen it mentioned even once.

If they’re going to have it, it should be part of the amateur draft rather than a separate draft.

Heyman actually just said the two sides differ on the international draft, so we'll see what happens. I'm hoping it doesn't happen after Kiley's report that we have a deal in place for a big time 2023 signee.

Why couldn’t they have done this months ago? Just sit in a room and hammer out a deal this’ll it’s done.

If a deal is done today then it’s gonna be buck a$$ wild for the next 24 hours on signings and trades.

I saw someone - I think it was Goldstein at Fangraphs - say that there would probably be a 48-72 hour hold on transactions to make sure they get everything finalized with the deal before everything starts.
