Official Draft Day, Post-Draft Thread

I've been reading since it started and yes, I also found that very odd.

Then you weren't reading very closely.

Most folks are happy with BPA, and are only pointing out the consequences of going that route.

I don't think anyone said "I wish the Braves had not taken BPA and instead gotten higher caliber player in rounds 3-10".

The college seniors started in round 5. We got interesting players in rounds 3 and 4. Folks need to keep in mind that the average yield per pick in the draft drops off to something negligible once you get past the first two or three rounds.

I LOVE what I've read about Tarnak, and what do people expect, this is the consequence of doing what everyone wanted the braves to do.

I actually know a coach that has seen Tarnak a lot, and he raved about him to me. This is the response I got when I asked:

"He's legit. Very low mileage on the arm for a FL HS arm as he just started pitching last year. Electricity in that guy with probably a little more in there too. Nowhere near as raw as the scouting reports make it sound."

So a projectable HS pitcher with a mid-90s fastball and the makings of a good curve? I had no clue on him initially, but am really excited to see where his potential goes. Any idea how far along his 3rd pitch is?

Exactly! I love the players and where they were taken. Just miffed on the overpay for Wright an Waters. That being said I still love the picks.

6 of the 16 guys taken so far today by the Braves have been catchers. Bridges wants that next Jonathan Morales really badly it seems.

The advantages of being able to confirm or deny new registrations is I can see if their IP was previously used under a different username or email registered previously. :Bowman:

can you see who is paying every month or not.. because I swear, I have mailed my checks every month on the 10th. :pimp:

Brett Brocoff has a great name and is a HS pitcher from Nevada that has some promise. Committed to Utah, speculated to be a hard sign.

Notice that Josh Anthony, guy we screwed up on last year, is still undrafted.

I would guess he's heading back to Auburn and has told scouts so. Didn't have a good year with the bat. People need to remember that although Western Oklahoma State College produced Andrelton Simmons, it plays at the D2 Junior College level and as such the offensive stats for the players are sometimes eye-popping. Rome's Justin Ellison also played there.
