Ok....i’ll start.

I thought Matt Kemp would have a decent year and maybe hit 35-40 dongs:HeywardWut:

I thought Colon would be a solid starter :FrediPuzzled:

I thought this was Folty’s year :JSIDK:

I thought the bullpen would be solid to really good this year :Bowman:

That’s just off the top of my head....sigh.

I bet kemp would have a 1.0 bWAR

I bet Swanson would have .700 ops from mid-April till the end of the season

I thought Swanson and Folty would have better years than they had. Will just have to move the Folty breakout to 2018.

I thought we'd make the playoffs!

Outside of this one, I'd think most of us at least entertained the idea that most everything stated to this point was at least possible - if not likely. Well, maybe not 40 bombs from Kemp, but at least 30.

I'll hang most of Dansby's season on the brass - the fact that he was made the co-poster boy of the franchise after 129 big league ABs was more than comical - but I think I've seen enough to believe it didn't crush him. You always want kids to struggle so you can make sure they can handle adversity, you just hate to see those struggles caused by the brass. He's now had his "speed bump", and now looks worlds more comfortable than he did early on.

I did definitely think we'd be closer to being somewhat relevant and around .500 as the season wound down, but I certainly NEVER expected Julio and Big Sexy to completely implode like they did - all-in-all, if those two didn't disappear we probably would have.

I predicted a win total in the low-70s and that's where we ended up. Didn't take playoff talk seriously.

Guys I thought would do better: Kemp, Teheran, Foltynewicz, and Swanson

Guys I thought wouldn't do as well as they did: Enciarte (offensively), Phillips, Flowers, and Suzuki

Guys I thought would stink who did just that: Colon and A. Garcia

I didn't envision the series of aggressive promotions. I thought the front office would all keeping taking the Adderall and ride out the season with the opening-day roster to the extent they could.

I don't think a marketing campaign caused Swanson's inability to hit sliders.

I did mention "most of Dansby's season", no? The slider part is definitely on him, and he has to make that adjustment - I'm just in the camp that believes he will.

Of course there's a crowd around here that blames all of the things mentioned in a thread like this (now and in the future) on the front office or Manager.

I thought Folty would be the Ace of the staff by the end of this year. Leading the team with 1.8 fWAR is not what I meant.

I was against trading Mallex for Gohara, and now Gohara is the only recently debuted young pitcher that looks like a keeper.

I thought Swanson was a lock to be a 2-3 win SS, not the complete turd he was.

Dansby was just so awesome that the Johns knew the only way for him to overcome adversity was for them to create that adversity.

This is by far the most humble post I have ever seen from you, Encheff. As for my crow eating, I didn't make any predictions, but as far as what I thought, I, too thought Sawnson was good for at least two wins, and likely more, as well as Folty. I also thought Julio would be decent, consistently. I hoped, but didn't think, necessarily that Newk would be great. I thought the catcher position would be lucky to produce positive offensive WAR. I thought Kemp would be about what he was in 2016, but he sure wasn't.

Didn't you want Castro and Desomond Jennings on this team over what we had?

Castro performed exactly as projected, and was well worth $8M. If you think Suzuki will come anywhere close to repeating his fluke 2017 season...well...you're not very bright.

I wanted one of several options as a 4th OFer. Lane Adams' 2017 is equally unsustainable, and Danny Santana was garbage.

So no, not much crow to eat there.
